Best of 80's is truly the best indeed with James Ingram and Kool and the Gang performing all the songs that hit them to stardom and known to their legion of fans from around the world! Held on the 27th of November 2007 at Stadium Negara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!
The show started at around 7.45pm with our very own Hazami, the guy that brought you the Malay version of Winter Sonata (Sonata Musim Salju) from his debut album Tekad, Redha dan Tabah.Hazami is well known as one of the best male vocal we have in the region. With 2 other albums under his belt, namely Kata and the latest Nyata. Seldom we get to see Hazami belting an English song, and boy he did justice to all the song that night like 'If you dont know me by now' to name a few.Hazami performed 4 songs, then leaving with the crowd cheering for more!
The the stage was set for Mr James Ingram, an American soul musician, producer and songwriter. Born in February 16, 1956 in Prosser, Ohio, United States. James Ingram started off his career in 1975 as part of the band Revelation Funk. He was later noticed by ex-Motown songwriter and Producer Lamont Dozier and the rest is history. His latest appearance before Live and Loud was for a US television reality show Celebrity Duets. The show combines professional vocalist, of different musical genre, with entertainers of different backgrounds in a weekly elemination competition.
James Ingram sang several songs (mostly karaoke favourites like Just Once, I don't have the heart (Where he made all the girls and guys screaming when he walked down from the stage to greet some lucky few), There' no easy way, Baby come to me, Yah Mo Be there and Somewhere out there which he performed as a duet with his back up singer. Mr James Ingram has indeed maintained all this years and have proven to be one of th best male vocalist of all time.
Then the night ended with performance by Kool and the Gang. Originally formed in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA in 1964, this American group is well known for singing music from Jazz and R&B to Funk and Disco. Consist of Mr Robert "Kool" Bell, Ronald Bell, George Brown, Robert Mickens, Dennis Thomas, Clifford Adams, James "J.T."
