PM ALLOCATES RM5 MILLION TO ARTISTES FOUNDATION

Malaysian Prime Minister Dato's Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak, announced an allocation of RM5 million, for the Yayasan Artis 1Malaysia foundation, at its official launch at the Dewan Merdeka, in PWTC, Kuala Lumpur, last Sunday, 11th November, 2012, in front of a capacity audience. The allocation which will be dispersed this year (RM 2 million) and in 2013 (RM3 million) will assist and enable the foundation which was set up on 25th June this year, to provide financial aid to its members, whom are made up of all artistes in the entertainment industry. Also in attendance was the Prime Minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Information, Communications & Culture Minister Dato' Seri Utama Dr. Rais Yatim and wife, a host of VVIP guests and members of the foundation, who were invited to witness this historical event, that is expected to benefit all entertainers in Malaysia.
The casual sit down dinner function also saw performances from a line up of 35 artistes of past and present, who presented a medley of music from the fifties till current and featured the cherished talents of Musly Ramli, Mariani, Mat Sentol, Aspalela Abdullah, Datuk Andre Goh, A.Halim, Rodziah Latif, June Izuddin, Dato' L. Ramlee, Hail Amir, Dahalan Zainudin, Salamiah Hassan, Datuk Khadijah Ibrahim, Datuk David Arumugam, Jatt Black Dog Bone, Zur Eda, Rohana Jalil, Jay Jay, Kelvin Lau, Kanaga, Joey BPR, Aris Ariwatan, Ani mayuni, Bob AF, Mawi, Momo Latif, Datuk Aziz Satar, Datuk Jefry Din, Jamal Abdillah, Zaiton Sameon, One Nation Emcee and Jimmy Palikat.
The newly founded Yayasan Artis 1 Malaysia (YA1M), which is lead by its President Datuk Irwan Shah Abdullah (DJ Dave), Vice President Dato' M.Nasir, Secretary General Dato' Malek Radzuan and an executive committee made up of industry heavyweights, was set up to unite, defend, protect, assist, as well as to look after the welfare all entertainers in the country, from all walks of life, without any racial, ethnic or religious discrimination, and to act independently for the individual artistes, with no ties to any existing associations.
