Scenes From Parkway Drive Live in Malaysia When I arrived at MCPA, Black Territory was already setting the mood.
Black Territory's energetic performance...
...was sending the crowd into a frenzy.
The metalheads were lapping it all up.
BT certainly had a way about them as they coaxed their fans into submition.
Fans kept kept coming, eventhough the show was already sold out.
Outside, I met these five dudes from Kelantan who call themselves Dead Eyes Glow who had just finished playing.
Mr cool, DEG's 2nd guitarist Apit.
DEG's bassist Naza.
The Lennonisque looking Zack who is DEG's vocalist.
The mamak outside MCPA always gets brisk business but really needs to upgrade soon, considering the weekend volume.
The best place for band members and fans to interact.
The flow of concert goers is non stop.
Black Territory chillin after their awesome set.
Metalheads are rather a friendly lot although they may look intimidating, just like BT here.
We love BT Ayed's ferns...
...and Man's warm smile...
...and Kadok's golden streaks.
The rather chancellory looking Apit from BT. We bet he writes poems.
There seem to be a lot of Bob's in the indie scene.
The indie scene & stall culture go hand in hand.
Chillin is in.
No more tix for sale!!!
The place was already full.
No indie gig is without merchandise.
I couldn't even make it to the front, need reinforcements.
There was still a little space left for now.
The merchandisers had a good view though.
Even tough metalheads love ice cream.
Here comes Winston from Parkway Drive, kaki ayam and all.
Karen from Ceasefire wondering where the rest of PD were?
Winston was all smiles as he trooped through the waiting fans.
Meet Winston McCall, lead snarler of PD. We love all the tats.
Finally someone an inch taller than me.
The friendly Winston obliging his fans.
Fuyoh, where all these Mat Saleh chicks all turned up from suddenly.
Fellow rockers Dead Eyes Glow getting cozy with Winston.
Nice!!! I mean the girls, but if you like the Apit, thats cool too.
We thought the girls looked sexy in their tanks...
...until we saw these guys in theirs. Ha! Ha!
Wan & Dean from Kids On The Move...er, were not moving?
Didi from Junk was the only other journo around.
The sweet, petite but built tough Karen from Ceasefire Records.
Winston seems to have an affinity with the jade lion at MCPA.
Tattoos galore: A weird looking catfish looking dragon on the shin, and a couple of kitty heads on Winston's feet. I guess he must like cats.
Someone's making his move.
Sign of the times.
Junk team prep for an interview with Winston...
...but we were more interested in what was cooking at the back of the MCPA hall.
OK dude with no camera who badly wanted a pic with Winston, here it is. Hope you like it.
Did Winston McCall join a new band?
Finally the rest arrive. Meet bassist Jia O'Connor...
...and guitarist Jeff Ling. Heard he was a reverend?
Winston doing his puddy cat impersonation. Hang on we will get you some milk.
Yeah, yeah, it was funny dude.
Jia & drummer Ben Gordon.
Jeff Ling waiting for his...er, teh tarik?
How often do you get to chill out with international rock stars at a mamak stall?
Looks like Ben, love his limau ais.
He just cud not get enough of it.
Here comes other guitarist Luke Kilpatrick...
...with their tour manager.
The fans can't believe they are taking pics with their idols in a mamak stall.
Jeff feeling rather tropical and decides to do his orang utan impression.
Jia just cud not believe it.
Autograph signing at the mamak, must be a first.
Even Didi from Junk must be impressed with these laid back Ozzie dudes from Byron bay.
More pics & full story coming up. Stay tuned.
