Konsert Triple Play @ KL Live 2012 (30/6/12)
THREE TIMES THE FUN WITH BORDERLESS CONCERT
Smashing. Absolutely smashing. Local rockers Hujan and Bunkface, and Indonesian heavyweights Nidji showed the fans that their music is truly borderless at TV9's rocking cross nation Triple Play Concert at KL Live, last night. Proclaimed as "one concert, two countries, three bands", Triple Play was all that and more, as the bands not only sang their own hits but also the hits of their counterparts, to an uproarious reception by fans who sang along with every number regardless of its origins, making last night's concert among the best of the year. Triple Play also proved that that independent local bands are producing some of the best ever music these days, and any of their numbers can easily be accepted and enjoyed anywhere in the region, or even globally. This was clearly showcased when Nidji comfortably covered both Hujan's "Muda" and Bunkface's "Situasi" with lead singer Giring, stating that he loved the incredible lyrics and melodies, and may include those tunes in their upcoming album. Likewise Bunkface and Hujan did justice to Nidji's "Shadow" and "Laskar Pelangi" respectively. And the best part of it all was the fans who were the ones who decided the set list.
Look, who's on drums now ...and who's on lead vox?
Hujan's axeman with their metallic moves.
Goreng-ed by Giring from Nidji.
