Kuala Lumpur International Jazz Festival (Day 2) @ KL Convention Centre (20/5/12)A STANDING OVATION FOR INAUGURAL KLIJF KLIJF founders Maizon & Rodin receiving a Brand Laureate award, watched by jazz legend and fellow recipient Ahmad Jamal.The inaugural Kuala Lumpur International Jazz Festival 2012 ended its two day run on a high note after featuring a world class line up up of jazz legends and upcoming superstars, that took Malaysian fans on a musical escapade like no other, thanks to the valiant efforts of its organiser's KL International Jazz and their highly supportive patrons, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) who were determined to place Kuala Lumpur on the global festival calendar. The festival which was held at the Plenary Hall, in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, drew praises from jazz lovers, for the quality and diversity of the artistes that were presented over the two days. The biggest coup of all was the ability of festival founders Maizon Omar & Rodin J.S. Kumar, who are both avid jazz listeners, to secure the mastercraftsmenship of celebrated and influential American jazz pianist, composer, and educator, Ahmad Jamal, to perform live in Asia for the very first time.
