"BEST GILA" SHOWCASE BY INDO STARS SHAKE KL TO THE CORE

D'Masiv doing a bang up job.
It was quite obvious that the four Indonesian acts - Astrid, D'Masiv, Geisha & Nidji - that were on their Rock & Stars Malaysian Tour 2012 which was boldly organised by Universal Music Malaysia, were having a ball of a time here in Malaysia. They were certainly enjoying themselves on stage last night at @loft at the Asian Heritage Row in Kuala Lumpur, and it showed in their highly energetic and vibrant performances throughout their showcase, despite their frenetic paced promotional touring schedule that included fans meets, media interviews & promos, and live performances over a five day period. Quite a feat considering, Astrid, D'Masiv and Geisha had to travel to Lanchang, Pahang, the day earlier for the 1 Nusantara 1 Malaysia Concert, that saw a record breaking 15,000 concert fans turning up at the venue to catch them live, while Nidji had to travel to Kuala Terengganu for HotFM's massive Big Jam Concert taking place there, and then making a quick turnaround to make their KL date yesterday.
"Best Gila! Best Gila", Rian Ekky Pradipta, lead singer of emo rockers D'Masiv, kept uttering, throughout their opening showcase performance that quickly lifted the fans into high gear last night. He was truly overwhelmed at the reception they received throughout their tour here. Needless to say their performances were as "Best Gila" (which translates as "insanely excellent") as well, looking at the rousing response shown by the audience. And the rest of the acts made sure it was "Best Gila" throughout the night as well, as they took to the stage one after another, with super stars Nidji led by consummate showman Giring Ganesha closing with a blazing eleven song set after art rockers Geisha which is fronted by Narova Morina Sinaga (Momo) and former gothic star turned pop diva Astrid Sartiasari kept up the exhilarating pace.
Step aside Amy Lee, here comes Momo from Geisha.
With ten million RBTs sold, Astrid's new feminine persona proves to be a winner.
Giring from Nidji "gorengs" the stage.
Full story & complete photos coming up.
