Konsert "Sampaikan Salam" Alleycats (Media Preview) @ Istana Budaya, KL (15/9/11)
"KONSERT YANG PALING HAPPY"
Story & Photos: Dragon
Our headline "Konsert Yang Paling Happy" is what was quipped by a journalist from Majalah Sukses, immediately after Alleycats fantastical two hour plus concert at Istana Budaya, last night. I could not have said it better. Datuk David Arumugan and his band of merry men had us all rooting from the start as they held us captive throughout a spectacular fun filled musical journey that had us in laughter and tears at their second ever appearance at Istana Budaya, which is likened by David as our very own Royal Albert Hall.
"Bukan senang nak berdiri atas pentas Istana Budaya. You have to be somebody to be here." declared a cheeky David as he teased members of the audience to come up unto the stage to sing with him, in what Rentak Sejuta is already considering as the best concert of the year.
The well thought out and perfectly executed concert is divided into three segments; the first one featuring the band performing in various languages accompanied by the excellent Orkestra Traditional Malaysia (OTM), which is a reflection of our country's ethnic diversity as well as national unity. The second segment is a tribute to the late Loganathan (David's brother and Alleycats' co founder) that features all his popular numbers, with the final segment showcasing all of Alleycats popular numbers.
If you want to feel as happy as we did last night, the concert which is brought to you by AM Events, officially opens tonight, on Malaysia Day and runs until Sunday. A 20% discount on tickets RM205 and above, is being offered today at Istana Budaya's box office in celebration of our nation's birthday, so don't miss our national icons in action as they bring you on a spectacular musical escapade that spans more than forty years. Also joining our national treasures on stage is upcoming singer Dasha Logan, the daughter of the late Loga, who will be paying tribute to her dad.
Full story and complete pics coming up.
