The last time MTV and MOBO winner, UK bhangra rapper and producer Rajinder Singh Rai, better known as Panjabi MC, was here in Kuala Lumpur, was back in 2007. Since then, the iconic star, who is famed for his massive worldwide hit, "Mundian To Bach Ke", has released two more albums (which makes it 16 studio releases in total) with another one on the way. He has also given Lagy Gaga's Judas and Cher Lloyd's Swagger Jagger his vibe enhancing dhol and bass treatment, and has just concluded a multi city Australia & New Zealand tour, before landing on our shores once again.

The much heralded Punjabi artiste from Coventry, England, met with several members of the media yesterday at the newly launched R&B dance club, Water Place, on Asian Heritage Row, ahead of his live show at the same venue scheduled for tonight. He was accompanied by young Punjabi singer Sunny J Takhar, from rising hip hop act Offlicense, who have already reached the number one spot on the iTunes' World Song Chart with their song "Ghaint Patola". The two headliners are expected to heat the venue past boiling point, when they take the stage, alongside local hip hop pair Boys In Tha Hood and MC cum beatmaker Roshan Jamrock from local crunk group K-Town Clan.
