Incubus Live In KL - Pre Event Live Text Broadcast (23/7/11)
INCUBUS - LIVE FROM STADIUM NEGARA
Live Text Feed: Dragon
Rentak Sejuta is now text broadcasting live from Stadium Negara KL. They just let the fans in. There is a slight drizzle outside but nobody's bothered.
A whole lot of contraband Incubus merchandise being sold outside, but the official tees are awesome, especially the floral one designed by Incubus' drummer Jose Pasillas. RM75 each. A fair price for collectors. And guess who we found selling them - Rahul from Love Me Butch, who also quickly informed us about their upcoming Rockaway music festival scheduled for 8th October 2011. We can't wait for it. Awesome!!!
Its just 7pm and the arena and lower tier is slowly starting to fill up. It should be filled up pretty soon looking at the rate fans are flowing in. We are starting to hear random screaming from the fans standing in front of the stage. Someone must be pointing a TV camera at them.
Its 7.15pm now, fans are starting to sit on the arena floor. We are glad we have nice comfortable seats up here in the lower tier - pretty much eye level to the stage, an excellent view actually. Since we are at the relatively small Stadium Negara, the band will not be looking like ants, for everyone here. We will not be able to show our own photos of the band performing this time around as photography by the media has been restricted. Hopefully we will get the official photos quickly enough. This live pre concert feed will run until the show starts.
7.50pm - Zher from 8TV and Hafiz from FLY FM on stage now to work out the crowd. They start a shouting competition between the fans, They end their session on stage by getting the fans to chant Incubus, before introducing the opening act Rosevelt precisely at 8.00pm.
Rosevelt open with Moments. After their second number Mosh, lead singer Nick declares that he wants the venue to be the "loudest place in KL tonite", to the excited roar of the audience. The band follow up with June, the track that got them the opportunity to open for Incubus. Continuing to hype up the crowd, Nick declares that they are "down with the emo stuff and will start belting out harder rock numbers", which gets the crowd riled up. The rockier Alice certainly gets the crowd going and their final number Politics had the audience bobbing and singing along with the band.
Rosevelt's five song 40 minute set certainly got the fans warmed up. The fans start roaring once again, when Incubus' roadies start prepping the stage. Its now 8.50pm, and the fans are eager for the concert to start. We believe Incubus will be up sharp at nine. Its great that the concert started on time and didn't keep us all waiting. Props to the organisers.
Our live pre event text feed will end once Incubus comes on stage.
Its seconds to 9pm, and the stage lights have been dimmed. The crowd is all riled up.
The band is on stage and its a go, as the opening notes of Megalomaniac reverberates through the stadium to the thunderous approval of the thrilled fans.
Find out more in our post story after the concert. Cheers.
