1. It’s Efficient
Thirty minutes three days a week seems too good to be true, right? In the past, perhaps you rode the dreadmill (treadmill) for a half-hour for your cardio. Then you have might have gone to the weight room for strength training. And then you stretched. The old workouts usually took an hour and a half or so, which was a lot of time to take from your busy schedule. The magic of Curves is that we use the work of strength straining on hydraulic resistance machine to elevate and sustain target heart rate. In other words, you do cardio and strength training simultaneously. It’s not too good to be true – it’s just efficient fitness.

Work elevates heart rate. The faster you move the machines during your Curves workout, the more work you do. You should move more slowly the first few minutes as a warm-up and the last few minutes as a cool-down. During the middle 20 minutes or so, you should move the equipment as fast as you can. The key to an effective cardio workout is to elevate and sustain a target heart rate for 20 minutes or longer. Ask the trainer to help you determine a target heart rate that is both safe and effective for your. A higher target heart rate is not necessarily better.

Strength training is defined as moving more resistance than the muscle is accustomed to. Since speed of movement determines resistance on our machines, it is important that you move quickly. Work with your trainers as she will encourage you to push hard on these machines. Strength training may have been the missing link in your workouts, but it is important as it protects lean muscle (which keeps metabolism high), protects bone density, and keeps your body strong and joints supported. Most back problems are related to weak muscles.
