OMG!!!! The difference and standard between this week's samba and last week's was MILES apart!!!! Congrats to Peter Ong for showing what an exciting routine can do!! Although some find his routines slightly risque and naughty at least he's got the balls to push limits. I actually came to first live show last night and had a really good time but thought crowd was rather sparse. Loved, loved, loved, Sue and Brancy!!!! YAYYYY!!!! I actually also recognised Peter before I met him last night. Not many people know this but this is one smart and talented (and I found out later) and a very private guy too. He had ballet and jazz training when he was a kid and then took up ballroom in the UK when he was there to study...get this...law! Not just at some polytech or run of the mill university, but in two of the UK's most prestigious ones: In University of Bristol he graduated with LLB with Second Class Upper Honours, and then went to do his Masters in Law specialising in International Business and Trade Laws at the London School of Economics. How he managed to go and dance and compete and do all that at the same time is beyond me... smart feller... And did you know he's also a very well-known and sought after opera singer!!!! Ya man!!! Opera singer!!! That's why I recognised him coz had to follow my boss to watch an opera in Singapore at the Esplanade (never been to one before....zzzz) and I got the shock of my life when I read the program and found out that got one Malaysian in the cast singing in a lead role! Wa-lao-wei!!!!!! My friend told me last night that he's also considered one of Malaysia's rising tenors and he's been invited to sing in Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan and Australia very regularly. I didn't know about his dance background too until I watched this show...but i don't know why he doesn't choreograph more in the show. I spoke to him for a little while and he comes across as a nice guy although a bit reserved at first. Turns out his dance students are one of the best in the country and are selected to represent dancesport (new name for ballroom dancing apparently) to the SEA and Asian Games coz it's now a medal sport and soon will be a sport in the olympics too!!! I guess it'll be like watching ice skating with no ice ;D I also later found out that he's one of the national trainers that will escort the Malaysian Dance Team to these Games. Did you also know that the recent KL International Dance Festival was organised by him too? His studio actually... I didn't get the chance to go but have heard great things about it especially the free workshops and performances. I had not time to go. Working-la. Maybe next one, timing can be better for us working guys. Anyway, I just wanted to highlight to everyone the extra 'juicy' bits about this guy besides the boring old resume up there. He's one of those rare people who achieve a lot in so many different fields but always stays under the radar. Keep up the great work, Peter, and I hope you'll be doing something again next week that's as bold as you've been doing all this while!!!!!!

I was expecting a great performance from Sue after she broadcast Peter so loudly during the finals on how good he was helping her on Tango/Ballet but when I see her dance, I nearly felt off my chair.
I knew at that very moment, she will not win and so dissappointed with the dance that make Sue dance so ungraceful. If I am Peter and knew she is going to combine Tango with Ballet, I would recommend her to someone else more professional in Ballet. Unfortunately not. Sad but good stunts without technique. Anyway, wishing all the best.
