Common Remarks made by Public - Are the Judges Being Fair ?
It is common in very competition , judges will have their own favourites but as we enter into the 4th. weeks of competition , I personally feel that all contestants should be judge under the same level and not from certain field or background of each contestants.
1) Do Not Judge a Dancer base on His or Her Background
Over the past 3 weeks , the judges keep commenting and giving high marks as below :-
Breakdancing - You are from breakdancing background and you pefrom well in Paso Duble which is the best so far . I do not agree with this remarks as most of us will agree that previous week , Dennis and Becky performed better in this dance . To me , Alam & Nor performed base on a begginer stage and just beacase they are from different background , they impressed the judges . This is unfair as they should be judge on how well they perform on that dance and not from their background and see progess in them .
If that is the case , I would say to all those who wish to register for next year competition , please say you dont have any dance background and I am sure the judges will give you high marks every week .
2) Guest Judge ?
Does the guest judge comments carry weights ? A big question mark as I can tell the guest judge are neutral in their judging as they are sharp enough and being very specific in their judging as they judge base on how well the contestants perform in that particular dance puttting aside the dancer background
3) Pick the best Dancer
We are here to pick the best dancer to represent Malaysia and make Malaysia proud and all contestants sould be judge equally irrespective of their background . Judge them base on how well they perform according to the dance and not because you are from breakdancing or hip hop or ballet and you perform well in other dance
4) Strong Competing The Strong
We want to see the strong one competiting with the strong one , so be fair in the judging as we are now into 50 years of Independance and that's how we can progress

TCW, I totally agree with ALL that you'd wrote up there. We are here to pick the best dancer, not which dancer that makes most improvement because their background is such and such etc etc! Judges should judge based on the performance on that show - having a high/low learning curve is entirely a dancer's credit/shortcoming - judges need not meddle and take that into consideration! Only strong against the strong.. please no more weaklings.. and no more really good performance on the bottom 4...

I do not agree with this remarks as most of us will agree that previous week , Dennis and Becky performed better in this dance . the best part is Dennis nvr had profesional training also (hip hop dancer), but the judges always convenienly overlook this. somehow they always remember this when Alam is onstage.

sometimes, being in somebody else's shoes definitely brings different outlook at perceiving things. being a judge is not easy. a judge must be impartial. i agree with this backgound thingy. it shouldn't be brought up at all times. i realized most of the times, this background issue was brought up mainly when the contestant managed to wow the judges. i agree, sometimes, the contestant did impress the judges and deserve such compliment. but what if the contestant only managed to impress the judges, and not the rest of the audience? i may not be a choreographer or a pro dancer, but i know what a good performance is. sometimes, the comments were absurd and really ridiculous.
and the way they picked Bottom 4? totally mental. why on earth can't they see that some of the contestants really need to go home? instead of picking the weakest dancer, they picked the strong dancer instead (obvious example: Sean, Jimmy). Jimmy was lucky and managed to stay fof the next round. At least for now. What about later?

Maybe the judges need more time to discuss with guest judge whom they feel should be in bottom 4 as the results are out so fast and it looks like it has been pre-decided . Guest judge comment should carry weights as well

I just have to AGREE with the background thingy.. When we see a very good performance.. The judges said.. "You were not so THERE.." or "You only have 2 min to impress all of us.. You cant even lose a second BUT u did.." Last week.. Another statement.. "You should let the girl to SHINE but u OVERSHINED her.." What? I thought the choreo is to shine BOTH guys and gals??? Just SHINE 1 party and not the other party? What kind of statement is this?
2nd condition.. When some contestants performed not too good.. The judges said.. "Eventhough you missed the steps just now.. BUT YOU ARE BACK!.." or "I can see API & ASAP from BOTH of you.."
Hmm... Frankly speaking.. I really ADMIT that I am not professional enough to define what they have commented.. BUT.. I hv to say NO to those comments.. As it's really somehow sounded very RIDICULOUS.. At least to me it's ridiculous..
~It's just my own point of view somehow.. Hehe..~

if any of you guys ever watch astro channel 29...there's a program on dancing competition.."lets shake it'...from beijing...too bad was in mandarin only...no english subtitle...the contestants were artistes from china, taiwan & hong kong...each contestant assigned a professional dancer to teach, cheoreograher n as dance partner in the competition my point...these judges (three of them)...before the start of each competition will take an OATH...that their judging will be professional, unbias n no favouritism... ;D just wonder if our judges here would go to that extend...
