Aku.Musik.Kamu
Faizal Tahir
(Rock/Ballad)
Album Review (by Lee Jen)
Rating: 4/5
“Aku. Musik. Kamu”. That’s the title of Faizal Tahir new born album. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Faizal Tahir, he is the 1st runner up of last year’s reality program called “One in a Million” (OIAM). It is said that Suki Low, the winner for OIAM had won the grand prize of RM1 Million, but it was Faizal who won 1 million hearts!
Faizal T. with only one year of professional experience in the music industry managed to snatch his very first award at the Anugerah Era’07 for the Rock Choice Award based on his ballad, Maha Karya Cinta (MKC) written by Shah Shamshiri. Not only that but, MKC as well as Kasih Tercipta created by Ajai and lyrics by Shuhaimi Baba, has managed to reach the Finals of Anugerah Juara Lagu 07, beating top singers such as Datuk Siti Nurhaliza and Diddy.
This hunky dude is also involved in the project of recording the Olympic Sports 2008 theme song in Bahasa Melayu. An ultimate team consisting of Ahli Fiqir, Jaclyn Victor, Ning Baizura, Faizal Tahir together with Letto will be collaborating as one to produce the song. With achievements such as these in a short time, its no doubt that Aku. Musik. Kamu will be the top choice of our local folks.
Aku. Musik. Kamu is an album like no other! It is fresh and brings a new angle of perception towards our local music industry. This masterpiece is made up of 13 engineered tracks which could easily be top of the radio stations. The album could not be completed without the partnership of Audi Mok. Currently, top hits such as MKC, Kasih Tercipta and Batu & Golek can be heard on our local radio stations. Without a doubt this album is vibrant, electrifying and unique in its very own way.
Faizal’s outstanding vocal brings life to the songs especially to the ballads. My personal favourite is definitely Sampai Syurga. One can feel the meaning to the lyrics of this song. The words are unbounded and passionate. It is truly a love song. I would beyond doubt recommend Sampai Syurga, Kerna Kamu, Gemuruh, and Cuba to be tuned in. The uplifting beat with the merge of melody and rhythm makes the song very attractive at the first strike. Not forgetting the choruses of the songs are catchy and the songs just get stuck in your head!
Also, I find in most songs that there are too many of “aku, kamu, ku, mu”. Maybe for the next album Faizal would tone it down a lil. Songs such as “Mestikah Ada Yang Lain” and “Mungkin ku tak bisa” are not too much of my preference. These two songs don’t really have to attractive force as the other songs. I find these two songs somewhat average. But hey, not all songs can be perfect can they?
Nevertheless, I find the acoustic version of Sampai Syurga rather odd at the ending of the song during the chorus. Other than that, the acoustic version of Sampai Syurga is simply smoothing. La da di dum on the other hand is a frisky and teasing melody. This song features a small part of Marion Caunter, Channel V, VJ. All and all, this album has been played by me countless time. I’m sure most of you would love it as much as I do. This gramophone record has been released to the market and local music stores. So what are you waiting for? Go and grab one today!
