The Lost Testimony Of Rashomon @ The Actors Studio, Lot 10, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur (06 & 07/08/10)
After much positive feedback from the audience in 2009, the third Buto Festival presented by Nyoba Kan will be back to thrill audience from 5 to 15 August.
One of the highlights of the two-week event is The Lost Testimony of RASHOMON, the result of a collaboration between Japan Buto Master Yukio Waguri and Nyoba Kan members. It will take place at The Actors Studio @ Lot 10.
Buto is a form of postmodern contemporary dance founded by two Buto masters from Japan - Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno in year 1959 after World War II. Nyoba Kan Buto inherited the ugly and indecent performance style and attempts to convey the spirit of reformation. The elements of yoga, Buddhism, Qigong and contemporary dance have been integrated to achieve inner wisdom and mercy.
Advisory: The Lost Testimony of RASHOMON is recommended for those aged 12 years and above (parental guidance advised). Not suitable for pregnant women and people with heart conditions.
