MonoloQue With Kimal "Cinta Yang Paling Sempurna" Song (Released 29/03/2024)
CINTA YANG PALING SEMPURNA TAKES A NEW TURN!
The song "Cinta Yang Paling Sempurna," originally composed by Loque with lyrics by Encik Farid, has taken on a new dimension with a fresh interpretation by Margasatwa’s Kimal. The song, which was initially crafted in a major key, has now been reimagined in a minor key, giving it a distinct Malaysian feel reminiscent of the style of M. Nasir and Pak S. Atan.
The journey of "Cinta Yang Paling Sempurna" began in 2016 when Encik Farid collaborated with Loque to create a song with this title. Inspired by the Indonesian 70s pop band era,
bands like The Mercy’s and D’Loyd, a small part of Loque’s childhood music upbringing.
Hence, Loque composed the song in a major key, portraying the era’s influence. loQue has enlisted Tomok to take the lead in the Cinta Yang Paling Sempurna, the 2017 version. This
collaboration mainly involved Penerbitan Pancasona and the Pahang State Museum. The song was released during Ramadan 2017, accompanied by a music video shot in Port Dickson, at the Tanjung Tuan lighthouse.
This rendition in major key of Cinta Yang Paling Sempurna marks a significant moment, especially as it is considered the final framework from the "Jangan Puja Sampai Kecewa"
(monoloQue’s second album) era. The music video for the original 2017 version, co-directed by loQue, holds a special place in the hearts of fans and is a testament to the era's creative output. Furthermore, this collaboration with Muzium Negeri Pahang adds a layer of cultural significance to the project, tying it to the rich heritage of the region.
Resonated during the COVID-19 pandemic or the invincible war, Encik Farid, recognizing the song's significance, requested Loque to give it a new touch.
“Cari lah kesempurnaan... walaupun kita tidak akan dapat menemuinya." Encik Farid, 2024 In 2021, Loque created a demo of the song, this time in with a different twist, which is in a
minor key, infusing it with a darker, closer to the Malaysian “ballad feel”. “This could possibly be the most “minor-ish” chord progression song I will ever write in my lifetime.
The latest rendition of "Cinta Yang Paling Sempurna" sees Saudara Kimal taking the helm. Renaming it as “Cinta Yang Paling Sempurna (Versi Gelap)”. Kimal’s version gives a fresh
sound to the song, which resolves a new breath and meaning to it. As it is now written in minor keys. They have crafted a demo of the song, embracing its new direction with enthusiasm. "This song, in its new version, paints a perfect picture of a soul yearning for divine love." Kimal states. Although the song has not yet been finalized for an album release, it has been included in our "Sesi Bilik Bedah," offering a sneak peek into its evolution.
The new version injects a revitalizing energy into the song. Bakri, being the only one who was the drummer for the 2017 version of the song, remembers “This new version is 'darker'
compared to the brighter tones of the previous version”. This reimagined version, titled "Versi Gelap," has been described as eerie by some. This perception arose when Loque and Encik Farid were seeking a suitable singer to perform the song in a minor key for this current version. However, the singer declined gracefully, citing its somewhat dark nature. Loque found amusement in this description, highlighting the song's intriguing qualities.
About MonoloQue:
The band MonoloQue was established in 2009 by Butterfingers' guitarist, Khairil Ridzwan Anuar, also known as Loque. In its early formation, MonoloQue consisted of Loque, Kadax,
Loko, Ijoo (Gagak Hitam), and Adam (Senyap). Changes in the group's members occurred in 2011 when Adam was replaced by Apex. In 2014, Loko also left, and he was replaced by Bakri Ismail. MonoloQue's music is characterized by an experimental genre with poetic lyrics.
After more than a decade of playing and undergoing temporary member changes, this post-pandemic period bears witness to MonoloQue's rebirth with a "New Sound." The chemistry of the main guitar riffs played by the new member (referred to as the "new element" by LoQue), Harry 'Misteri,' along with the revival of drum/percussion elements brought to life by the "old-timer" Loko (who has been with LoQue since the early days of Butterfingers and MonoloQue) has completely overhauled MonoloQue's sound, breaking new ground in the current and future sonic landscape.
