These eye-catching entry-level turntables from lesser-known vinyl culture tech company Gadhouse from Thailand are definitely going to make a significant impact on how young people of today may want to approach and consume their music.
They are not only unleashing a retro assault on the consumer market but putting together an entire revolution championing the collectors and appreciators market, by not just engaging audibly but visually as well with the current generation. They are making vinyl and the art of listening to music physically cool again. They are certainly taking it to the next level.
Little is known about Gadhouse, a Bangkok-based music and lifestyle brand with a design philosophy to combine modern technology and vintage aesthetics.
According to its promotional material, its name "Gadhouse" originates from the idea of having a house of gadgets and marrying music, lifestyle and vintage design under one roof into a line of retro-modern turntables. The company started with just two engineers with a passion for the artistic side of things while mixing in their engineering skills as well. They aimed to create a retro-modern concept with a modern feel, great style, and the blending of retro with modern technology to create a unique experience with classic technology!
Seen here is its Brad range of retro-styled modern turntables, which are currently available at Swee Lee here in Malaysia from just RM 535 (except Tangerine @ RM 540 & Black @ RM 595) each. Apart from a pair of lineouts, the 3-speed turntables which can spin both 7" and 12" discs, also come with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity (in) and built-in speakers. They are available in 5 colours - green, grey, ivory, tangerine and black - and are small enough to carry about with you.
They are so cool that we want two of them for ourselves - the sexy green and you guessed it, the ultra-vibrant tangerine.
