Konsert Datuk Hattan 35 Years Journey @ Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur (04/06/2022)
SODAP!!! 35 YEARS IN THE MAKING OF HATTAN.
The wait to catch iconic Malaysian singer Datuk Hattan performing at his very first live solo concert was more than worth it. It may just have been the very best concert of the year. and if you do not have tickets for tonight's sold-out second date, you will definitely be kicking yourselves for missing it yesterday.
The musician from Sri Menanti, Negeri Sembilan certainly kept us "menanti" for more than 35 years for his very best show - 3 hours & 10 minutes - of it all, which was held at no better and dignified a venue than the Plenary Hall at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Despite performing 23 songs with one of the best lineups of professional musicians that included Pa'ang Zaman on percussions, Ujang Exists on drums, Fly Halizor on bass, Firdaus Mahmud on keys, Mohar on flute, Jad Lobo & Baby Akmal on backup vocals, Ritz Metalasia on lead guitar, Nan Saturnine on 2nd guitar and music director Rozario Rasul on piano, the super energetic Hattan was never short on stamina or visibly skipped a note throughout his highly engaging concert that had everyone demanding for more even when the clock had snuck past midnight.
Hattan's son Adam Eiman made a credible guest appearance with his yet to be released Takdir as a treat for all concert-goers before joining his dad in an exciting and stirring rendition of Gadis Jelebu.
Rentak Sejuta is glad that we did not miss this historical concert which was attended by many fellow musicians, both young and old, including the likes of Ramli Sarip and Dafi. At 57, many may be thinking that Hattan may be past his prime, but from yesterday's show, he looks like he is just getting started.
