COVID-19 Status Update as of 11.59 pm, 8th February 2022New infections nationwide rose alarmingly again to 13,944 cases. 153 of them were imported cases. Active cases rose significantly to 83,071. New cases in Sarawak rose to 129 while Sabah flew past the 2K mark to a massive 2,069 cases. Selangor rose past the 3K mark to an alarming 3,031 new cases with 41 of them imported while Kuala Lumpur climbed past the 1K mark to 1,022 new cases with 64 of them imported. Labuan reported the lowest number of new cases at 29. All other states had significant increases in new cases including Johore at 1,680, Kedah at 1,463, Kelantan at 1,105 and Penang at 1,023. Hospitalizations rose to 4,570 with 138 in ICU, while 13 deaths were reported yesterday. 78.8% of the total population are fully vaccinated while 38.2% have received their boosters. 0.8% of the adult population have still not been vaccinated.
