According to Dr Jason Hee, MMK will be organising a total of 5 major events in December, to conclude what has been a very difficult year for the once thriving events industry.
“Despite the pandemic and various lockdowns, MMK Events has been hard at work all our collaborating partners, preparing for all our key brands to be able to be run physically once again.” expressed Dr Jason Hee.
“We have also been conducting various well-received activities online while weathering this unfortunate storm that has nearly crippled our country, especially the events industry,” he added.

The highly anticipated Miss Malaysia Kebaya (MMK) returns physically to the centre stage after a year’s break, on 12th December 2021 with 50 finalists, at the prestigious Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Club, where its Grand Finals will be held along with the inaugural and equally anticipated Malaysia Runway Culture Model (MRCM) 2021 Grand Finals, which will feature 85 finalists who will regale the audience with the best of Cultural Malaysia. The event will be co-organised with experienced event organiser and music producer Eva Khoo from Khoo & O Consulting Sdn Bhd.
On 17th December 2021, the colourful and all-inclusive Selangor Fashion Week (SFW) which was formed in 2019, returns for its third yearly edition, with 50 models and more than 10 designers. SFW is among the only few runway events that feature models of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities, and a wide variety of upcoming designers. Among the designers or brands that will showcase their collections at SFW include Viola's Princess Wedding Studio, Wawa Fashion, GHADEEZ, Ghada Couture, Ridzuan Bohari, Dawn Adaptive, Emerald Brilliant, Masmira Fashion, MMK Couture as well as designers from Malaysian Bumiputra Designers Association, which is headed by its President, Rasta Rashid. A special hair show entitled “Timeless Beauty by Lavigato” by Art Director Felix Lee will be the main highlight of this year’s Selangor Fashion Week. SFW 2021 will be co-organised with well known Malaysian supermodel Sharwita from Le Fashion Secret (LFS).
Felix Lee & Terence Too of Lavigato
The inaugural SFW which was staged successfully in November 2019 took under a month from conception to presentation with hardly any budget. It presented 22 designers and more than 100 models at the Event Space in Fahrenheit88 in Kuala Lumpur. The second SFW (2020) was held successfully as a model competition early this year at the Grand Ion Delemen Hotel in Genting Highlands. This year’s show will be staged at the Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort.
The Malaysia Fashion, Modelling & Pageant Awards (MFMPA) returns for its second edition this year at the same venue on 19th December 2021, to honour the best in fashion, modelling, pageants and related ancillary industries for 2021. The inaugural MFMPA 2019-20 which was held at Grand Ion Delemen Hotel in Genting Highlands in early 2021 saw more than 80 awards being presented. A lesser number of awards is expected to be presented this year due to the slowdown of the related industries in 2021, but it is will be still a classy and prestigious affair. Also presented on the same date will be the inaugural Top 100 Talent Awards (TOTA) which honours people or organisations who excel in their own special way. The co-organiser for both of these events will be the highly experienced Thilagavathy Krishnasamy from Harry International Talents.
A host of activities are scheduled leading up to the various events that will include closed-door talent competitions, photoshoots, pre-judging, workshops, and rehearsals, which will be held on 5th and 10th December 2021.
