COVID-19 Status Update as of 11.59 pm, 17th October 2021
Infections nationwide dropped significantly to 6,145 new cases yesterday, taking the cummulative total to 2,390,687.
Selangor remains at the top of the leaderboard despite a massive drop to 1,036 new cases yesterday, with Johore next at 732 while Sarawak drops significantly below the 1K mark to register 730 new cases.
Kuala Lumpur also drops significantly to 182 new cases while Putrajaya drops to 22.
Both Sabah & Kelantan drop steadily to 504 and 572 respectively.
Kedah also drops a bit to report 370 new cases while Perlis rises to 51 new cases.
Melaka and Negeri Sembilan continue to yoyo at 260 and 214 new cases respectively. On the east coast, Pahang moves up a bit to 305 while Terengganu drops to 319.
Up north, Penang rises a bit to 438 while Perak also rises significantly to 461.
Labuan reports 3 new cases.
Overall, most states are showing a steady decline despite some mild surges here and there.

Active cases dips further to 92,246.
6,910 of these cases are currently hospitalised with 688 in ICU, and 348 on ventilators.
Deaths dropped to 63, taking the total fatalities to 27,921.
93.8% of the adult population have already received their complete vaccinations, while 97.2% have received their first dose. 2.8% are still unvaccinated. 25.6% of adolescents are fully vaccinated while 69.7% of the total population are fully vaccinated.
