COVID-19 Status Update as of 11.59 pm, 16th October 2021
Infections nationwide rose slightly to 7,509 new cases yesterday, taking the cummulative total to 2,384,542.
Selangor remains at the top of the leaderboard surging upwards significantly to 1,744 new cases while Sarawak remains above the 1K mark despite dropping a bit more to 1,005 new cases yesterday. Johore is next with 753 new cases.
Kuala Lumpur drops a bit to 259 new cases while Putrajaya drops by 2 to report 37.
Both Sabah & Kelantan drop steadily to 639 and 688 respectively.
Kedah also drops a bit to report 403 new cases while Perlis drops to 30 new cases.
Melaka and Negeri Sembilan continue to yoyo at 261 and 236 new cases respectively. On the east coast, Pahang drops to 301 while Terengganu drops to 383.
Up north, Penang rises a bit to 411 while Perak also rises fractionally to 307.
Labuan reports 2 new cases.
Overall, most states are showing a steady decline, except for Selangor and Sarawak who are still struggling to shake it off.

9,531 have recovered yesterday taking the total recoveries to 2,261,289.
Active cases dips further to 95,395.
6,793 of these cases are currently hospitalised with 694 in ICU, and 344 on ventilators.
Deaths dropped by 1 to 88, taking the total fatalities to 27,858.
91.5% of the adult population have already received their complete vaccinations, while 95.1% have received their first dose. 4.9% are still unvaccinated. 22.8% of adolescents are fully vaccinated while 67.8% of the total population are fully vaccinated.
