GODDESS "Glow With Pink" Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign (October 2021)
GODDESS, a local lingerie brand in Malaysia, launched the “Glow With Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign in support of the Pink Ribbon Wellness (L) Foundation. GODDESS is in partnership with Hong Kong celebrity Bernice Liu to promote this campaign in conjunction with the International Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.
The “Glow with Pink” campaign is from 1st to 31st October 2021 with the objective of creating awareness, specifically for women and also the general public. Their supporting partners are Jazzy Group, EASI, Nivea, Skin Fairy, with Sister Magazine as its media partner. It is the first time that EASI is involved in a cancer-related charity event, with the EASI riders wearing a Pink Ribbon on their wrist to support the campaign. EASI is hoping to take a small step to raise awareness of breast cancer among its customers.
"GODDESS is a new, up and coming lingerie brand in Malaysia which is concerned about women's health. Women nowadays are too busy with their families and careers. They may forget to take care and love themselves. We hope to use the brand's modest influence to raise breast cancer awareness among women," said GODDESS' Co-Founders, Joanne Goh and Charmain Liew.
GODDESS is collaborating with Pink Ribbon Wellness (L) Foundation in support of the Foundation and its objectives. GODDESS has designed and produced 1,000 pieces of the “Constance Collection” Limited Edition lingerie, especially for this campaign. For every set of “Constance Collection’ sold, RM 50.00 will be donated to Pink Ribbon Wellness (L) Foundation.
Hong Kong artiste Bernice Liu was invited by GODDESS to promote the “Glow with Pink” campaign. She will be sharing about the risks of getting breast cancer and preventive measures, through a session on her Facebook Live in October. A group of Malaysian female artists have also recorded shoutout videos to support women and cancer survivors, They are Phoebe Yap, Tong Bing Yu, Debbie Goh, Amber Chia, Sora Ma, Emily Lim, Vivienne Oon, Daniella Sya, Jasmine Suraya, Mei Yan, Joyce Harn, Kym Tan, Mei Fen and other local celebrities. The messages highlighted in these shoutout videos are reminders to women, of the importance of regular check-ups and to have the courage and to stay positive in their fight against breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women with more than 7,500 new cases diagnosed each year (source: Globocan 2018) and it is the leading cause of death among Malaysian women. At 32.1%, breast cancer is the third highest cancer among Malaysian women while only 1% is of males are diagnosed with it. One in 19 women is at risk of developing breast cancer in their lifetime. No matter who you are and where you live, understanding breast cancer is vital. A diagnosis is not a death sentence as early detection of breast cancer saves lives.
Pink Ribbon Wellness (L) Foundation is determined to fight breast cancer by empowering women with sufficient knowledge and education on breast health care and cancer preventive measures. It is important to connect with breast cancer survivors support groups as they have gone through their own cancer journeys and to always remember that “ You Are Never A Victim, Always A Fighter”.
The campaign poster depicts a woman's body line with the orange spot symbolizing a woman's head and the darker pink spot allows the public to instantly notice the roses on the breasts, which represents a woman's healthy breast. The other breast without a spot indicates one that has been inflicted with cancer and has been removed through mastectomy. The ‘removed breast’ is represented by a tiny ribbon, which indicates the support of loved ones in helping her fight against breast cancer and also the survivor’s hope towards a better life.
GODDESS and Pink Ribbon Wellness (L) Foundation hope all women can lead a healthy lifestyle and do regular breast examinations and mammogram screenings for early detection of breast cancer. If you have a family member or a friend, who is diagnosed with breast cancer, please give them your support, love and care to help them in their cancer journey.
Let’s support this “Glow With Pink” campaign by purchasing “Constance Collection,” concluded Joanne Goh and Charmain Liew.
