Lockdown Listen Day 39 (21/08/2021)Day 39 of Lockdown Listen on Friday, 20th August 2021, saw us rummaging through the Now series: 73. Now That's What I Call Music! 24 (EMIl/Virgin/Polygram) There are simply no compilation albums series better than the Now That's What You Call Music! series. It is simple the best. Now 24 is no exception. All the best tracks of 1993 are here, including classics such as Informer's "Snow", Shabba Ranks "Mr Loverman", Shaggy's "Oh Carolina", 2 Unlimited's "No Limit", Duran Duran's "Ordinary World", Genesis' "Invisicible Touch" and Ultravox's "Vienna", among many others. 37 of them in total, perfectly curated. The series was originally conceived in 1983 by the head of Licensing and Business Affairs at Virgin Records Stephen Navin, and General Manager Jon Webster. The first Now was released on 28th November 1983 and featured 30 UK hit singles from that year on a double vinyl LP or cassette. The CD format began with Now 4. Since November 2005 (Now 62), the series has only been released on the CD and digital download formats. TAGS: #LockdownListen #DiscoverOldMusic #Now24 #RentakSejuta
