Day 16 of Lockdown Listen sent us on a tour of Memphis, Tennessee yesterday:
39. MOJO Cash Covered.
MOJO magazine's outstanding tribute compilation to country music's most iconic son Johnny Cash, hits all the right buttons. Despite the fact that most of the acts stay as true to the original, it's still a worthy addition to anyone's music library. But there are a few acts that dialed in their own flavour to make it even more stellar. We especially love This Kid Named Miles' reggae infused and funked up version of Ring of Fire. Also standing out are I Still Miss Someone by alternative country band Willard Grant Conspiracy from California, Get Rhythm by London based roots blues band Jawbone and Dark As A Dungeon by indie rock band Sparklehorse.
