Red Hot + Rio released in 1996, is part of the Red Hot AIDS Benefit Series and is a contemporary tribute to the Bossa Nova sound especially the music of Brazilian musician and composer Antonio Carlos Jobim. It features pop artistes such as Incognito, Sting, PM Dawn, David Byrne, Stereolab, George Michael, Ryuichi Sakamoto and many more. An interesting listen but may not be everyone's cup of tea, despite a few gems.
Situation: Control is the third and most successful studio album from American singer, songwriter, producer and deejay Ultra Nate who is best known for her blistering house influenced "Free" which fuses together strong 1990s soul, dance-pop, garage and also disco. Two versions of the song are included in this critically acclaimed 13-track album. Some of the tracks on this album can easily sit alongside other tracks in your current playlist, despite being 24 years old.
