Plaza Low Yat Reopened Under NRP (18/07/2021)
STRICT SOPS MAINTAINED AS PLAZA LOW YAT RECEIVES CUSTOMERS UNDER REVISED NRP CONDITIONS

Malaysia's #1 commercial hub for consumer tech, Plaza Low Yat has opened its doors to customers since last week after relaxation for the computers and communications sector was given under the National Recovery Plan (#NRP).
Although not all shops are open or can be open, it is a welcome relief to all consumers, especially to those who needed repairs, servicing or replacements.
Rentak Sejuta paid a quick visit to the centre yesterday to get some important supplies, and found it untypically quiet. The management had set up strict SOPs at the venue, and were seen checking the current MySejahtera status of each visitor before permitting entry.
Most retail outlets only handled customers at their entrances by only taking specific orders. Only some allowed partial entry (only for serious buyers), as browsing or window shopping was strictly not allowed. You needed to specifically request what you wanted before a retail staff brought it to you.
Despite the strict enforcement, a few violators were observed at the famed tech plaza. Some unfortunately came as families of four to five, casually walking together around the venue as if it was just any other Sunday. Others may have come individually but unfortunately gathered together in groups. But fortunately it was just a few errant people. These casual violators never seem to learn and continue to be selfish despite the severity of the pandemic that is crippling our nation.
Although the permanent shops were towing the line, some kiosks had a little too many retail staff than they should and were observed crowding up narrow spaces. Hopefully the management of the plaza will monitor this more thoroughly.
Thankfully the place was quiet overall, and most just came to secure what they needed and left soon after.
It's good that the Government has given these sectors an opportunity to operate, but both its operators and their customers should be mindful not to abuse the privilege extended.
