Once Upon A Time in Hong Kong is set during the 1960s and 1970s Hong Kong when the police and the underworld colluded with each other, and where corruption is at large with citizens suffering injustice. Hence it is within this crucial time that Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) was established.
First-generation ICAC investigators Hank (Louis Koo) and Nash (Lam Ka Tung) of the newly set-up ICAC department in Hong Kong are all out to take down drug lord Cripple Ho (Leung Ka Fai Tony) and Chinese Detective Lak (Francis Ng). In one of the confrontation, Hank calmly faces Lak’s threats with determination to eradicate the corrupted underworld empire ruled by Lak and Cripple Ho.
Directed by Wong Jing and Woody Hui, Once Upon A Time In Hong Kong stars 4 of Hong Kong Best Actors in an ultimate showdown. The feature film was released in cinemas on 29th April 2021.

There are scenes of chaos and fights, police marching the streets in protest, police and civilians altercations and even pouring of red paint on ICAC signage and office. All in the scenes bring back the dark times in Hong Kong where the underworld ruled. The trailer also sees Louis Koo vowing to catch the corrupt criminals.
Synopsis
In the early seventies Hong Kong, corruption was rampant as ever. Chinese detective sergeant Lak Chui (Francis Ng) colludes with Cripple Ho (Tony Leung Ka-fai), lord of the underworld, to make billions of dollars through bribery. Lawyer Hank Chan (Louis Koo) despises this kind of illegal acceptance of benefits and believes that this deprives the public of their own rights. His fortune changes when he meets Nash Pak (Lam Ka Tung). Nash admires Hank’s integrity and invites him to join the ICAC. The fight between the righteous and the evil begins.
