COVID-19 Status Update Report (02/02/2021)The total number of new Covid-19 cases nationwide saw a significant drop with 3,455 cases reported today. Also on the positive side, 3,661 cases were reported as recovered. Despite this, 47,847 active cases are still receiving treatment, with 327 of these cases in ICU and 145 of them on respirators. Sadly, 21 deaths were reported today taking the total deaths to 791. Rentak Sejuta extends our deepest condolences to the bereaved. While most numbers are starting to shrink overall, Selangor still reported 1,145 new cases, followed by Johore with 708 new cases and Kuala Lumpur with 619 cases. The cumulative total now stands at 222,628. It is with great hope that the extension of the Movement Control Order (MCO) to 18th February 2021, the number of new cases will continue to shrink to manageable levels. But this can only be achieved with the strict adherence to all SOPs that are in place by all citizens and residents. It's a collective responsibility.
