COVID-19 Status Update & Cluster Report (12/01/2021)A record breaking 3,309 new cases were reported today ahead of the "lockdown" tomorrow. Total number of cumulative cases has exceeded the 140K mark at 141,533 cases. With 30,390 active cases currently being treated for #COVID19, our hospitals and medical services are already stretched to the limit and are on the verge of collapse. Selangor leads the number of new cases today with 1,007 followed by Johore with 442 new cases, with Sabah and Kuala Lumpur reporting 409 and 326 new cases respectively. Even Putrajaya, generally a safe area, sees 36 new cases. Penang follows KL with 317 new cases, while Perak reports 241 new cases. Sarawak, generally a safe area, which is under the less restricted RMCO, reported 146 new cases today. Pahang and Kelantan, register 96 and 86 cases respectively, with Kedah at 62. Melaka and Terengganu reported 21 and 20 new cases respectively, while Labuan saw 15. The safest state at zero new cases is still Perlis. 190 new cases are currently in ICU with 83 of them on ventilators. Unfortunately another 4 deaths were reported today, taking the total fatalities to 559. Rentak Sejuta extends our deepest condolences to their families.
