COVID-19 Status Update & Cluster Report (17/11/2020)
Another 1,210 new #COVID19 cases nationwide were reported today, while 1,018 cases were discharged. This leaves 12,788 active cases being treated for the virus, with 105 cases in ICU and 40 of them on respirators. Unfortunately 5 deaths were reported today taking the total fatalities to 318. Rentak Sejuta extends our sincerest condolences to the bereaved.
There was a slight increase in new cases in Sabah with 499 reported, with only 1 case in Labuan and 1 in Sarawak, being registered in the East Malaysian states.
Selangor reported 271 new cases today, with Kuala Lumpur recording 245. Putrajaya recorded 2. Klang has the highest number of active cases with 1056. Hulu Langat comes in second with 769 active cases while Sepang has 300 active cases.
Up North, Perak saw 47 new cases while Penang recorded 33. Kedah reported another 8 new cases while there were no new cases in Perlis keeping the state as one of the safest in the Peninsular.
Down South, 67 cases were reported in Negeri Sembilan, 14 in Johore and 2 in Melaka.
On the East Coast, Kelantan saw a minor spike, with 19 new cases reported, while Terengganu reported 1 and with none in Pahang.
5 new clusters were announced today - Kasar in Kuala Lumpur, Summer in Penang, Megketil in Kelantan and Avenue & Kejora in Sabah.
The cumulative total of COVID-19 cases now stands at 49,730.
