AN EMAIL INTERVIEW WITH HYDE
Q&A: Dragon
Iconic Japanese rock star HYDE is set perform in Malaysia at his live acoustic in Wisma MCA, Kuala Lumpur, on 12th May, 2018. Rentak Sejuta haad a chance to throw a few questions at him ahead of his concert here. Here's what HYDE had to say.
1.What can Malaysian fans expect from your upcoming concert in Malaysia?
It’ll be something different from the norm as it’s a seated concert and I think you’ll be able to enjoy the music in a relaxed way.
2.How many songs will presented and will there be any new material or any special presentation just for Malaysia?
I’ll be playing songs from last year’s Kuro Misa Japan tour, but I’ll change some of the songs and arrangements for Asia. I think about 18 songs or so?
3. How will this solo show be different from a show by L’Arc-en-Ciel or Vamps?
It’ll be enjoyable in a seated, stylish and relaxing manner.
4. What are you looking forward to in Malaysia the most?
He kinda lives there so I’d like to hang out with GACKT.
5. What can Malaysia expect from you in sense of fashion and visually?
I’m going to dress it up so you guys come dressed up too!
6. Have you had a chance to listen to music in Malaysia and is there any local artistes or acts that you like or enjoy?
I don’t know, teach me next time!
7. Would you consider collaborations with Malaysia or Southeast Asian rock artistes in the future, or else work on soundtracks for Malaysia made films or animations?
Sounds interesting. I’d love to be introduced to some.
8. What are the latest projects you are currently working on individually or with your bands?
I’m working on my new solo album. It’s different from Kuro Misa, as it’s a hard album.
9. How do you feel Malaysian fans will react to your solo show in Malaysia?
If you know me, I’m bringing the gold, so you will definitely be impressed by the content. However it’s not suitable for those who want to dance or go crazy (laughs).
10. Any special message for your Malaysian fans?
Its okay, you really don’t need to give me durians.
