Do keep an eye and both ears out for charming Jakarta born singer Faliant Ferdiant in the near future. The handsome 31 year old singer who was raised in Johore Baru since he was just seven, after his family expanded their business there, revealed his latest single "Antara Melati" to the members of the media at a press conference which was held at the Broadway Lounge in Berjaya Times Square Hotel Kuala Lumpur last week.
"Antara Melati" which is composed by Donsyah and arranged by BadHisham & Mustakim, is produced and distributed by Malay language label Natz Production. The mixing and mastering of the new single was done by Tapai and recorded at Natz Studio. The main production credit goes to Adrianshah Mazil. The 31 year old Faliant who started singing from thirteen and used to be with local underground outfit Wasted Room, hopes to break into the local Malay mainstream music scene, after going solo in 2011. His previous single "Dengan Mu" charted on Era FM last year, and his current single "Antara Melati" is expected to propel him even further ahead in his quest to gain a foothold in the local Malay music industry.
According to Faliant, "Antara Melati" is about making choices in love. The song portrays a boy and girl in love and the choices they have to make. Faliant also added it was a challenge to make the move from being in an underground band to a being a solo artiste. He even tried at making a go in the Indonesian market by doing a few shows there and still continues to get offers to perform abroad despite limited success there. He has been in discussion with Indonesian recording labels but has not made headway because of the fact that he does not live there. He hopes that "Antara Melati" will be accepted by music listeners here.
