According to Swedish Lebanese praise singer-songwriter and producer Maher Zain, his "Forgive Me" Live In Malaysia concert tonight at Stadium Merdeka is expected to be the biggest ever Nasyeed concert in Malaysia. Although Maher has performed in Malaysia several times before, his Kuala Lumpur date this time will incorporate production that has never been seen before in any of his previous local affairs. Other than the highly anticipated surprises from Maher (he was quite tight lipped about what these surprises would be despite prodding from media members), the concert will also feature guest performances by soulful Canadian spiritual singer Irfan Makki and American spiritual folk singer Raef.
The cordial and constantly beaming Maher who has tremendous fan support in Malaysia met with members of the media as well as event sponsors at a well attended press conference held at the spanking new Hadramawt Restaurant on Jalan Ampang, last Thursday, 14th June, 2012, two days ahead of his concert which is presented by Canon Malaysia and co-organised by Marctensia Concerts and Awakening Records, and supported by Tourism Malaysia. His local fans, which make up more than half of his 4.2 million plus fanbase, will once again get to enjoy his two hour long live show here thanks also to co sponsors Etiqa Takaful and One Drop Perfumes. Maher who was the most Googled celebrity in Malaysia in 2010, revealed that he will be performing at least 23 songs, mostly from his sophomore release "Forgive Me", plus some from his 8 x platinum selling debut "Thank You Allah".
Tickets for the "Forgive Me" concert scheduled at 8pm are priced at RM78 (free seating), RM138, RM238 and VIP (all numbered seating) and are available online from TicketCharge, or at the stadium. Students will receive a 20% discount by showing their student ID during purchase.
The concert is also supported by official recording label Inteam Records and distributor Warner Music Malaysia, official TV station Astro, official radio station Sinar FM, supporting media partners Era FM and IKIM FM, official restaurant Hadramawt, official hotel Hilton KL, and with technical support from Singesen. Maher Zain Fan CLub and ASWARA University are the promo partners while professional photographers TJ & Co will take on the official shutterbug role.
