4.11pm These 2 charming fellas were manning the media registration when we arrived.
4,12pm Our first glimpse of the concert ground, from the rear entrance.
4.12pm Making our way to the concert grounds.
4.12pm Just peeking through the foliage we already knew it was going to be a massive event.
4.14pm Our roving reporter Anastasia couldn’t wait to get started.
4.14pm A mid sized stage was set up at the near end of Stadium Negara’s open air car park (redefined as The Secret Garden).
4.14pm A massive crowd had already gathered in front of the stage…
4.14pm …and was already spilling over to the bazaar area.
4.15pm More than 10,000 people were already partying away.
4.15pm These guys will certainly agree that it was going to be a fruitful evening.
4.16pm Chilling while waiting for their faves.
4.16pm Seemed to be very little backstage activity…
4.16pm …simply because all the action was going on up front.
4.17pm Who was drawing all the attention?
4.17pm Even from this far.
4.17pm Only the fruit department didn’t seem to be that engaged.
4.17pm Not much talking going on near the iTalk booth…
4.18pm …since Aru from Republic of Brickfields had the audience on hold.
4.18pm What’s with the weird finger contortions, Aru? Scarylah, wei!!!
419pm The YouTube squad was ready to capture every syllable from ROB.
4.20pm Strumming up some rasta fun.
4.21pm Republic of Brickfields certainly had the fans eating out of their hands with their rousing reggae rhythms.
4.21pm Aru making sure everyone got their money’s worth and had a great time.
4.21pm Crowd favourites Republic of Brickfields was clearly enjoying the adulation of their fans.
4.23pm Probably not big fans of ROB.
4.23pm Some concert goers seemed a little frustrated they could not get centre stage view.
4.24pm We love those pants, dudes!!!
4.24pm It was getting more & more crowded as the strains of ROB’s music drew more fans into the grounds.
4.25pm Republic of Brickfields were certainly enjoying the crowd as much as the crowd were enjoying them.
4.25pm Even fans of Alleycats turned up at RTW8.
4.25pm We certainly wanted to meet some but no one seemed to be around.
4.25pm ROTTW, the hottest rock magazine in town was among the sponsors who had their booth at the concert.
4.25pm Not sure whether indie rock fans would be that interested in playing futsal with Fara Fauzana.
4.25pm Why does everyone look like they are queuing for a bus?
4.26pm We keep bumping into the usual suspects when we go for these indie events.
4.26pm Some of these concert goers look like rock stars themselves.
4.26pm Everything you wanted to know about the Malaysian rock scene are captured in these pages from ROTTW.
4.27pm And you can sign up to be part of the family too.
4.28pm Malaysian Death Core band Upon Arrival’s debut EP & merchandise were on sale at RTW8. But we are really wondering what's in the tupperware?
4.28pm RTW8 turned out to be a great place to bring your date. Rock & romance does mix.
4.36pm Just in case people forgot were they were.
4.40pm These fans decided to hang out near the VIP dome, so they could “bump” into their faves.
4.41pm We hope it was not a long wait.
4.42pm At the Senseless Art booth.
4.42pm Ahmad Saiful here is the man behind the lenses at Senseless Art. Check out: www.senselessart.com
4.42pm The moderate undergrowth here seems to be giving these guys a chance to chill & get XFresh-ed again.
4.42pm Thumbs up from Jason, the man behind the successful RTW8, while giving Rentak’s Dragon a Lo down on the concert. More pics coming up.

Scenes from RTW8 - Part 2
4.42pm The concert takes a break for Asar prayers.
4.43pm Hey, they are still waiting for the stars to turn up.
4.43pm Are you sure the stars are in there?
4.48pm The VIP minders. Doesn’t she look like Hunny Madu?
4.49pm After many hours of rocking, any place will do for a quick rest.
4.49pm Everyone’s thankful for a little breather.
4.49pm It’s nice to chill with friends and new acquaintances
4.50pm They look like they were having a great time.
4.50pm Some of these guys look like they belong in a rock band themselves.
4.50pm Any place will do as long as we get to chill for a while.
4.51pm Arriving concert goers were subject to stringent security checks to ensure everyone had a safe & fun time.
4.51pm Seems like the crowd had vanished …but only for a while.
4.51pm Time to browse around the bazaars & get some replenishments.
4.52pm Some concert goers seemed to be engaged in serious discussion…
4.52pm …while others found time to be lovey dovey.
4.52pm Some were glad they were already there…
4.52pm …while others were still trying to make their way in.
4.53pm No one was sparred the vigilant security guys.
4.53pm Meet the Style Council.
4.54pm So many people, so many styles, but united for the love of good music.
4.55pm He couldn’t wait for the concert to kick back in.
4.55pm They couldn’t have been happier being right were they were.
4.56pm The Voize.my booth.
4.56pm This was selling at only RM 25.00.
4.56pm With such low prices Universal Records was doing some brisk business.
4.57pm A good selection of CDs for rock fans.
4.59pm The crowd rushing back to take up their positions as Bunkface were about to take the stage.
4.59pm Macbeth shoes were also being sold at RTW8.
5.01pm We spent some time at Macbeth booth to check out their cool footwear.
5.01pm I bet they wished they had some Macbeth shoes on. Just like we hoped we did. Sigh!!!
5.01pm Check out The Schubert…
5.02pm …and The Jackson. They are really fab shoes.
5.02pm The Macbeth promoter showing off her cool cool gear.
5.02pm We love this one. Wish we had some (Macbeth distributors, hint, hint). After all we featured them here in Rentak. (Ha! Ha! Just trying our luck, who knows, right.)
5.03pm A little quiet at the Zero Hour booth once the concert restarted.
5.03pm Zero Hour promoters pushing their wares.
5.04pm This Zero Hour trooper is all ready for action.
5.04pm RTW8 tees by Zero Hour, the official merchandisers.
5.04pm Macbeth & Zero Hour were flying their battle colours.
5.04pm Pak Cu was ready to quench everyone’s thirst with a wide assortment of budget drinks.
5.05pm Everyone was eager for Bunkface to start the show again.
5.05pm The wait was about to come to an end.
5.06pm Malaysian style kebabs for the hungry.
5.07pm But they were hungry for the show to start. Their patience will soon pay off…
5.07pm … as Bunkface were almost ready to go.
5.08pm No bunk faces here, just lots of happy folks.
5.09pm Sam of Bunkface lets it rip.
5.10pm “Give me a B—U—N—K F-A-C-E. Yeah. Welcome to the Bunk Show.”
5.12pm The boys from Taman Sri Andalas, Kelang, turn the crowd inside out.
5.17pm Biak, Youk, Sam & Paan of Bunkface played like old pros and had the crowd in a frenzy.
5.20pm Why is Jason walking around with a bunk face now? Ha Ha! Cool, cool, Jason. We are just kiddin', we know you are making sure everything runs smoothly.

7.26pm The Otherside Orchestra seen from the otherside, ala Wayang Kulit style.
7.31pm Tweak master Haizal makes musical hay. We can guarantee his glasses are not from England Optical.

7.51pm It takes years of practice to play the tambourine.
7.52pm “Is anybody actually out there listening to us. I can’t really see with these shades.”
7.52pm Bittersweet has a lot of fans among their fellow rockers.
7.54pm Pijie’s hairstyle seems to have influenced at least one of Bittersweet’s fans here.
7.54pm Certainly Bittersweet deserve this title.
7.55pm Bittersweet – Exciting with a Capital E!!!
7.55pm No bitterness here, just a lot of sweet sweet smiles.

8.20pm “Gua tak mau gua punya gambar ditangkap”, shrieks the gua.com.my cameraman.
8.21pm Rich looking overwhelmed by response from the fans.
8.22pm The media reps (including our very own Anas) found a great place to catch the show.
8.23pm Estranged continue delivering more sweetness.
8.24pm The graduates from the school of rock were quite quick to answer.
8.24pm Obviously these guys didn’t go to the school of rock.
8.24pm If it weren’t for the guitar, we would have thought it was the back of his head.
8.25pm We are glad Hanafi here doesn’t really have to look at his chords.
8.25pm Hanafi doing his man thing.
8.25pm The music was resonating from his veins as Hanafi strums up more musical syrup.
8.25pm Even the media lensmen stopped shooting to enjoy Estranged for a bit.
8.26pm More school of rock graduates.
8.29pm It takes a lot pedal power to ride a guitar.
8.29pm Accelerate...
8.29pm …for more exhilaration.
8.29pm Too much acceleration, though, may make you go white in the face and your hair stand on its ends.
8.30pm All set for the guitar Olympics.
8.30pm We are not sure who is winning.
8.31pm The band’s guests are quite contended to sit it out on the sidelines.

8.32pm We wish we had a huge screen like this at home.
8.34pm The hard hitting Koffin Kanser crew keying in...
8.34pm …with their percussion kits.
8.39pm It was a hive of activity backstage as the rest of the performers & their crew got into the groove.
8.40pm Naza of The Times steps up to a uproarious reception.
8.40pm Things are beginning to shine brightly for The Times.
8.40pm Naza taking a moment to take in the sweltering atmosphere.
8.40pm The Times unleashing their brand of soda pop rock & roll.
8.41pm No he won’t Moon you. But he might swoon you with his melancholic rhythms.
8.41pm Earth calling Moon. Can we have lots more of The Times?
8.41pm Is this what The Times mean as Modern Minimalis Glamour? We love the cool cool vintage style dress!!!
8.41pm Wonder what car Naza here drives? Must definitely be a classic.
8.42pm Careful girls. The Times are known to put Gadis(ku) In Koma.
8.42pm He maybe Mono but he also plays in stereo.
8.42pm Mono-polizing the stage?
8.43pm Nothing Imaginary about the music from The Times.
8.43pm Caught in a The Times warp.
8.44pm Crew members standby for a change of set.
8.44pm Are the girls getting Revenge on the guys by smothering them with make up?
8.45pm Would you bring him home to see your parents, girls?
8.46pm It takes a really brave man like Doddie here from Revenge to wear fish nets in public. “Gua caya lu”, too dude.
8.53pm No, its not a new indie band.
8.56pm It was finally time for us to wrap up. RTW8 was certainly a grand success.
