Hi everyone, thought i will give my two cents worth of review for last weeks show...congrats to all the participants who made it to the top 8...all of you guys deserve it EQUALLY...no buts and ifs!!!!
I noticed some very interested comments posted up....About some one mentioning that Farah mentioned that she misses Black...well, i see that it has been conviniently ignored the fact CC mentioned that she "prefers her new partner".....to me, it ain't a biggy....for GOD sakes, these people see each other 24/7 and they kinda just expressing themselves about what is preferred and not..they are not demanding...its sad of this is gonna be a deciding factor on whether a dancer is good or not.....i think CC and Farah put out a fair bit of good performance....
i realize there is a concern that dancers are certain whether they are gonna be in the bottom 6 or not..be it in the top 4..IF thats a fact, why bother watching the show???....just wondering.....
many think that Farah should be in the bottom 6 this week...i was at ruums for that night....true as what uptown dragon has mentioned...what you see on the TV is not as real life where you get to notice every single glitch.....i believe many people views were swayed because CC and JOJO pulled out a very good SECOND performance, of course credit to the choreography.. but their FIRST performance was nothing to shout about comparatively.......thats what affected the judges decisions i guess!! JOJO is definitely improving progressively, nice to watch!!!
On the contrary, I think Farah, Black and Sim were the most consistent in both their performance compared to the rest...Hong was good but SLY outperformed him!!...A good dance has to have good consistency throughout the whole duration...
SLY smashed in hip hop but not as good in the cat suit dance!!!
HONG "nerdy" looked played a big part for the crowd...the choreography and dance steps were not "out of this world" type.....less abstract, more executable!!!!..very entertaining!
..but the FIRST performance was his below par!!!
Ray and Farah's second dance were a very hard piece...but i think they pulled it off splendidly..i am pretty sure there were no "BALLET" steps required from the choreographer...i have to admit, it was more of two kids playing around to a song that doesn't even have a beat... its so abstract..its just all feel and flow with the music...dance beats and timed steps definitely look better and more dance like...but i am sure all of you have seen week in and week out that Malaysian contemporary is the hardest sort of category to perform in!!!!
anyways, no offense to anyone..just my point of view....i think that the dancers should be given the opportunity of performing in each category to prove their versatility....week in week out some of them get the same category..it can pretty boring and also not really in favor if that is not your field of expertise (it could work vise versa though)......
a better distribution of categories is required...that would be the best way...if everyone is gonna end up getting the same category, of course no one is gonna see any improvement and the show can be a bit boring to few, i agree..especially if you are a neutral spectator....
cheers peeps, (see you guys on Thursday...hopefully ;o)
May the best wins!!
