So it's finally down to the girls. 3 different flavours of them to choose from.
The talented, vibrant & polished 24 year old "veteran" who needs this competition to resurect a topsy turvy career, the talented, fun filled & energetic 17 year old child star of a famous father who is still weaning off her transitional vocals, and the newly discovered but yet unpolished 18 year old gem from a remote town in Sabah.
Who will you pick? Who deserves to win? Who truly has the talent and the package to go far and deliver the results? Who will be a wise investment? After all a million smackeroos is not little.
Many might say that the money will probably get better returns in a mutual fund than from the returns hoped from the production, promotions & sales of an album for the local market. Just take the money and run, forget about the album, they may scream. Doesn't seem like a bad idea, except that we viewers have been promised an amazing musical result from this high investment, and the contestants have already been bound by contract to spend a significant sum from their winnings on their careers.
So who of the 3 has any chance of doing such miracles, especially here in overly saturated Malaysia which seems to produce more untalented wannabes than we truly need? Who of the 3 has the whisper of chance in producing a mega selling album that gives them a decent ROI?
Well, that is really for you guys to decide. It's after all your money (spent on voting) that wins them this competition. Although any money generated from SMS may seem paltry to the funds already secured from the sponsors, it is still an indirect investment by us the viewing public, and I believe as a viewer, i would certainly require at least an album of calibre from the winner, to say the least, for my share of investment.
So who will it be? Who will you choose and why? And will you actually spend additional money to buy the winner's album once its actually out? Think about it carefully. Their future is in our hands, and we are responsible for making sure that the most deserving and the best of the 3 is the one that finally walks away with the prize.
So pick well & wisely. And tell us why.
