Songs Of Support: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Live In Singapore @ Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore (25/10/10)

“In the wake of the most devastating floods in the Sub-continents history, the Indo-Pak Diaspora has come alive and in a united effort and show of support, bring a unique Fund raising concert to Singapore. The Esplanade provides the perfect stage to show case the harmony within the two communities in Singapore, as an example to the World. Singapore once again proves to be an ideal venue for a unique event”.
Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan takes out time of his grueling global schedule to perform in front of an eagerly awaiting audience at the Esplanade, for the first time. Ustad Rahat’s fame in Indo-Pak has reached a dizzying height following his appearance in the extremely popular Music talent show for children “Chotte Ustad”. A new breed of fans is growing up as Rahat leads a unique show bringing musical talents from both sides of the borders, in renditions of Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi classics.
Be part of this unique concert raising funds called “Songs of Support” for millions of the affected people in India and Pakistan. All profits of this concert will be donated to approved NGO’s under an MCYS approved fundraising permit. Unite with the organizers in making this a success as they have united in the cause of humanity- Music Sans Frontiers! “
This event is promoted by Charkula Arts Academy, Singapore Pakistani Association, Mastana Entertainment and Vital Gear. Rahat's music crosses boundaries and borders the world over and has unified the love of music into fans across the globe. A truly Sub-continental superstar, Rahat needs no introduction to the thousands of Singapore fans and we are privileged to get a slot in his grueling world tour.
The applause surges while the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra are still playing the final pages of Dum Mast Qalandar. By the close of this extraordinary concert by Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, nephew of legendary Qawwali singer Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, everyone is on their feet and cheering.
