Ralf GUM:
Ralf GUM is one of the highest respected figures in the house music scene for the distinctive qualities in his exceptional productions and DJ-sets. Since Ralf`s DJ career started in 1990 he stayed true to his passion for cool and diverse house music. Harmony & Soul & Groove just some aspects of Ralfs typical sound. With a feeling for the vibe, he convincingly played at more than 300 German and international spots, including gigs all over Europe, Japan and the United States. In autumn 2008 Ralf toured South Africa for the first time with great response and was the first German house DJ who got booked in Botswana.
Ralf is creating music since 1993. He worked with notable artists as Inaya Day, Monique Bingham, Beate S. Lech, Michael Procter or Concha Buika. Ralf released in 2008 his first artist album 'Uniting Music' containing the hit-single Kissing Strangers, which was a bestseller in its genre in 2008. Thus it got #1 in the Top 100 Singles 2008 and the biggest house track 2008in the chart of Traxsource.
The hallmark of Ralfs sound is his love for live instrumentation coupled with wicked deep house beats. But the distinctive groove isnt the only reason for Ralfs success his passion and love for all things soulful shines through all time and helps create a simply irresistible vibe...
Next to his productions and remixes for labels like Defected or Tommy Boy and his seducing DJ-sets, Ralf GUM receives as well worldwide plaudit with his own label GOGO Music.
SIMON GREY (LIVE PA) | ALEXA (special Jazzed Dub Version) | Groovology (Jazzed Dub Set) | Calvin Jeremy, JAZZED DUB Stage
Simon Grey:
Hovering somewhere between syncopated rhythmic drive, rich analogue synth lines, hefty beats and lush jazz voicing, Simon Greys musical style may be hard to pinpoint. One thing is clear however, the Australian has been bent on expanding the musical realms of electronic and acoustic soul at all BPMs for some years now.
Born in Melbourne, Simon began studying piano at age four. After a period of studying drums, jazz piano soon became his main focus. Studying freelance locally for several years, it all came together with Simons discovery of the beauty of the Fender Rhodes electric piano, Herbie Hancock and woodpanelled analogue synthesis if not an obsession that would shape things to come.
In 1999 Simon formed original live 13 piece groove outfit "Polyester" that in time would earn the reputation as "one of Australia's tightest groove outfits", leading to performances at outdoor events like the Australian Gatecrasher Summer Sound System in 2002.
It was here that the act attracted the attention of Soulfuric camp's John Julius Knight, who took time to collaborate with Simon at his "Nasty Audio" studio facilities. 2005/06 saw Simon come together with highly respected UK soul label Papa of Reel People fame, with his brand new full calorie broken disco epic "The Galactica Suite". Going from strength to strength in the UK and beyond, the track has quickly solidified Simon's important role in the finest of nu jazz/soul/house circles.
2007 has been a big year for Simon as it sees the release of his past and present material in a new album package for Japan. Keep your eyes on this man in 2008 as a long awaited album is in the works and is set be the next step in Simon's sound.
