Guitar Recital by Flavio Cucchi @ DBS Auditorium, Shenton Way, Singapore (02/09/10)

Considered by critics as one of the most interesting European guitarists of the international scene, Flavio Cucchi has given hundreds of recitals across the globe in addition to his appearance in radio and TV shows (such as BBC, RAI, TCS and others).
Beside as a soloist, he has played with orchestras such as Orchestra Della Toscana, English Chamber Orchestra, Basque National Orchestra and the list goes on. He is also very active in the domain of chamber music and has played the world premiere of Sestina d'Autunno by Petrassi and many modern masterpieces such as Boulez “Marteau sains maitre” (at the Scala di Milano), Henze's “Cimarron” etc.
Many composers (Alvaro Company, Nuccio D'Angelo, Anthony Sidney, Oliviero Lacagnina, and Chick Corea) have been inspired to write for Flavio in addition to his much contribution to enriching the repertoire of classical guitar in recent years.
Flavio Cucchi is also a professor at the Conservatorio Mascagni of Livorno since 1986. Recently the American Poet Yusef Komunyakaa (Pulitzer prize 1994), dedicated to him “Ode to the guitar” presented at Genova International Festival of Poetry.
