As wonderful as it was to have so many fans turning up for the 1st live show, lack of proper crowd control seriously put a damper on things. Many arriving fans hadn't a clue what was going on outside the venue. There were hardly any signs indicating where they had to go or what they had to do. Most were completely clueless, especially those who registered online or were friends & family of the contestants, as they were not sure where to sign up to enter or whether it was already time to go in. Fans had started arriving as early as 7pm but could not get in until at least an hour and half later. The minimal signage that was put up was completely hidden from general view. By 8pm the crowd had swelled outside and there was not enough space at the lobby to disperse them. People arriving up the escalator into the crowded lobby found themselves trappped with no place to go. The hired help (in orange) were not much help either as they were as clueless as the arriving fans. This massive bottleneck could have been easily avoided, if the doors were opened earlier. Adequate signage should be up in places that can be easily seen by all, clearly demarcating the right lines for them to be on as well. A seasonal pass should be issued to the 100 special guest so that they do not have to check in every single week at the counter before they enter. Seems such a lot of hassle just to get in. People will get tired of this weekly mess and may opt out for good. We hope things will be better next week.

Was at Ruums on Thu nite standing near the left side of the judges' podium, where this particular event security stationed there had a (rude) way of controlling crowd. We were supposed to stay behind the red & white tape on the floor. This security will have his arm folded and when my friends & I crossed the line...he'll poke & push on us either at our upper arm or at our rib cage using the edge of his elbow to get us to stay behind the line. At first, we don't bother about it n stand back behind the line...but after after a few more times doing the same to me & my friend, I then lost my cool and *bloody* gave him a piece of my mind. I confronted him n told him off that we r all educated ppl n all he could do was just opened his *bloody* mouth n tell us to stay behind the line...need not resort to using rough tactic to control the crowd. After that he didn't bother us anymore...me n my friend ensure that we do not crossed the line. What kinda self discipline this security has? Talk about discipline others...what a joke. He's probably was trained the old school way of crowd control ie. resort to rough tactic...something like the FRU...rather than using the soft approach. I hope the 8TV crew who hired these guys brief them on the do's & don'ts of crowd control...show some courtesy n manners.
