VENNA THE 3RD DOCTOR TO WIN A SUPERMODEL UNIVERSE MALAYSIA CHAMPION'S TITLE!

Venna Magarita Richard Santhanan, a 31-year-old medical doctor from Kuala Lumpur was crowned as the female champion of Supermodel Universe Malaysia 2023 while Muhammad Afiq Zul Suhaile, a 27-year-old fitness centre manager from Perak emerged as the male champion, at the competition's grand final which was held at the prestigious Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel in Mutiara Damansara last Saturday night. The bright-eyed Venna also picked up the Miss Congeniality and People’s Choice Champion subsidiary titles, while the well-defined Afiq secured the Best Body subsidiary title, along the way to winning the main titles. Venna also happens to be the third medical doctor to win a Supermodel Universe Malaysia championship title, after Yogamathi Ulaganathan and Thiru Umaran in 2022, extending the doctors' streak in the competition.
Both winners of the much-heralded Supermodel Universe Malaysia 2023 (5th Edition) will represent Malaysia at the world final of the competition which will be held in Malaysia for the very first time in September 2023. Thalia Thin, the female winner of the very first local edition in 2019 went on to bring honours to the country by becoming the very first Malaysian champion at the world finals of the competition which was held in Bulgaria, that year. The major recognition is among Malaysia's proudest moments in the world of professional modelling. Her emphatic win secured Malaysia's chances to host the world finals here in our homeland. It is hoped that the current winners will also be able to make Malaysia proud once again.
The runner-up title in the female category went to Gittanjali Pathmanathan, a 23-year-old ACCA & Human Resources degree student from Klang, Selangor while the 2nd runner-up title was snapped up by R. Vani Pillay, a 25-year-old content analyst from Kuala Lumpur. The 3rd runner-up title went to Juliana Mahendrran, a 20-year-old law student, from Kuala Lumpur. Gittanjali also won the Best Talent subsidiary title while Juliana won the Most Photogenic subsidiary title.
The Supermodel Universe West Malaysia 2023 title went to Einthumathi Ulaganathan, a 25-year-old Bachelor of Business Administration undergraduate from Penang. She is also eligible to compete at the world finals this year.
In the male category, the runner-up title went to Sun Kartigesen Alagesen, a 32-year-old business development executive while the 2nd runner-up title went to Bharathithasan Selladurai, a 39-year-old principal system engineer from Selangor. The 3rd runner-up title went to Mavin Ferrace Nath, a 28-year-old businessman & actor from Klang, Selangor while the 4th runner-up title was picked up by Danush Varman, a 21-year-old model, actor & student from Puchong, Selangor. Sun also won the Best Fitness subsidiary title while Bharathithasan won the People's Choice Champion subsidiary title. Marvin won the Most Eloquent subsidiary title.
In the teen category of the competition, Puteri Nurthara Nabella Saiful Arzuan, a 17-year-old from Selangor emerged as the champion. She also won the People’s Choice Champion & Best Catwalk subsidiary titles, while the kids' category saw 7-year-old Yumna Ismail emerging as the champion.
In the international category, it was 31-year-old Alena Raduga from Russia, who was crowned the female champion, while Abdullah Khan, a 21-year-old local student & model from Pakistan was declared the male champion. The People’s Choice Champions in the female & male categories went to Juliet Gara from The Philippines and Ishmail Bangura from Sierra Leone, respectively.
The winners (except People's Choice Champions) were selected by an esteemed panel of 12 industry judges that included Supermodel Universe International Charity Ambassador 2022 Ohn Morales, Mrs Malaysia Universe Ambassador 2022 Jessica Chong, prominent Malaysian model, catwalk coach & Le Fashion Secret CEO Sharwita, personal trainer, IFBB Pro bodybuilder & boxer Morteza, Mrs Intercontinental International 20/21 Previtha Rajah, CEO of Book'd Carl Graham, Mr World Heritage 2022 Sivanathan Thevar Vikram, fashion designers Farel Mikhail & Jonathan Kok from FMG Group, Mrs Malaysia Petite Kebaya 2022 Kavitha Supramaniam, award-winning professional hairstylist Alex Lim and Mrs Malaysia International 2021 Jessica Gan.
Also crowned as Supermodel Universe Malaysia Ambassadors 2023 were Dato' Dania Abd Wahab, Datin Farah Ahmad, Datin Richa Aurora Chan, Kavitha Supramaniam, Mala Fo-ever, Rina Batumalai, Diana Jathang, Samitha Ruth, Jahangir Khan, Dr Syed Hamid Hussain Madni, Ruban Narayanan and Rentak Sejuta's publisher Anastasia Doping.
The final was emceed by Supermodel Universe 2019 world champion Thalia Thin Yi En, Rhenu Buller, Pooja Bhuller and Shyam Buller.
