Mrs Malaysia Universe 2021 Crowning & 2022 Announcement Press Conference @ Level 1, Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur(24/04/2022)
PRODUCT SPECIALIST KIRANJIT TO REPRESENT MALAYSIA AT MRS UNIVERSE 2021 FINALS IN SEOUL

Kiranjit Kaur Sarban Singh, a 43-year-old product specialist with a leading global food distribution company, from Kuala Lumpur, was crowned Mrs Malaysia Universe 2021, at an intimate ceremony held at Level 1 in Bangsar Baru last Sunday afternoon. The mother of 2 young children aged 9 and 12, is pursuing her Masters in Counselling Psychology and is currently planning to establish an NGO for single mums. She will represent Malaysia at the world finals of the international pageant in Seoul, South Korea from 22nd June to 1st July 2022. Kiranjit who is of Punjabi descent is a first time participant in the pageant industry.
Kiranjit was crowned by Ammetta Malhotra Bergin, the current franchise owner of the international brand for Malaysia and the National Director of the pageant.
Malhotra’s appointment as the franchise holder for Mrs Malaysia Universe for 2021 and 2022, which is owned by Mrs Universe Ltd, was also officially announced during the event. The appointment was made by Megi Savova and Sava Tsakov, the principals of the international pageant brand.
Malhotra is also the Malaysian franchise holder and National Pageant Director for Super Model Universe Malaysia, an international brand which is also owned by Mrs Universe Ltd. Malhotra has conducted the local edition of the international pageant every year since being appointed in 2019 and has successfully led her very first local winner Thalia Thin to a world title in 2019.
A professional and certified fitness trainer, and director of Target Fitness, Malhotra got actively involved in organising pageant and modelling competitions, after winning Mrs Universe Classic II 2019. She is also the winner of Mrs Malaysia Universe Classic 2019, Mrs Malaysia Globe Classic 2018 and Mrs Fitness Globe 2018, as well as being the World Fitness Federation (WFF) Gold Medal Champion in 2018. She has been listed in Britishpedia as one of the most influential people in Malaysia.
Malhotra took the opportunity during her speech to thank Mrs Universe Ltd’s Megi Savova and Sava Tsako.
“Our mission is to produce quality Mrs Malaysia Universe winners who can make us proud in the international arena,” she expressed confidently.
“The direction the organization will be taking will be one of more inclusivity where we hope to see diversity in the participants in terms of race, occupation and talent,” Malhotra further added.
According to one of the major prerequisites of Mrs Malaysia Universe, all delegates are expected to have good communication skills as well as the ability to converse well in English and Malay. The pageant is also looking for someone who will be active in charity work and be a gracious queen.
“Due to the pandemic in 2021 we were unable to hold a pageant and hence we have handpicked our candidate that we believe has all the qualities that we are looking for in an international beauty queen. Kiranjit fits the bill perfectly,” Malhotra concluded.
To enhance and strengthen the quality of the Mrs Malaysia Universe team, Malhotra also appointed Previtha Thiagarajah, as her Assistant National Director. Previtha is a well-known personality in the pageant industry, having won several local and international titles including Mrs Asia Pacific 2019/2020, Mrs Malaysia International 2018/2019, Mrs Classic Malaysia Tourism Queen 2017/2018, Miss Malaysia Asia Pacific 1996, Miss Malaysia Queen of the Year 1995, Miss International Queen of the Year 2nd Runner Up and Most Promising Model 1994. She is also a professional pageant judge and mentor.
Also announced during the event were the ambassadors for Super Model Universe Malaysia 2022.
Dr Sevak Sidhu was appointed as Supermodel Universe Malaysia 2022 Aesthetic Ambassador while Ohn Morales was appointed as International Charity Ambassador. The Fashion Ambasador went to Grace Liso Lim.
Sarawakian entrepreneur Lim had worked closely with designer Norazlan Mokhtar to create the Taga collection. Taga means gorgeous, pretty and beautiful in the Kelabit/Lun Bawang language. The elegant, minimalist but chic ready-to-wear outfits which are designed with Borneo motifs are suitable for daily use and are created specifically for all genders of various shapes and sizes. Taga is intended to bring the Borneo wilderness and exotica to the rest of the world through fashion.
Morales who hails from The Philipinnes is the founder of One Heart Netizens, a charity group based in Malaysia and also The Philippines. Morales is also the winner of Heroes Without A Cape Asia which was awarded by The Filipino Channel (TFC) for her active contributions to providing Care Packs for the needy over the last three years. She is also Miss Queen Hero 2019.
Sidhu is a physician and medical consultant and has a Professional Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine (LCP) from the Aesthetic Academy Asia. He is currently the Medical Officer at the A&E Dept at KPJ Damansara & Rawang and the Doctor in Charge at PPV MMU Cyberjaya.
Malhotra also announced that they will be looking for three more Ambassadors that will represent the Super Model Universe Malaysia brand for 2022 and mentor their young supermodels. These will be the Beauty Ambassador, Elegant Ambassador and Wellness Ambassador.
Closing the event was the announcement of Super Model Universe Malaysia 2021 Second Runner Sivanathan Thevar as Mr World Heritage Malaysia 2022. The 35-year-old Sivanathan is a teacher, performing artiste and model. He will represent Malaysia at the world finals which will be held in Mumbai, India from 21st to 26th June 2022.
