Japanese Film Festival (JFF) Online 2022 (14 - 28/02/2022)
The Japan Foundation is once again bringing Japanese film lovers a chance to watch exciting films in line with the JAPANESE FILM FESTIVAL ONLINE 2022. Streaming online for free from 14 to 28 February, get ready to watch 20 exciting films in the comfort of your home!
From the classics, drama and thriller to documentary and animation, the films showcase the colours and depth of Japan and the Japanese cinema. Malaysian audiences across the country will have the opportunity to watch these enticing films with subtitles in both English and Malay for free. And special for this year, JFF ONLINE 2022 in Malaysia will be featuring Sharifah Amani and Sherry Alhadad as the ambassadors for the online festival.
Viewers will get to enjoy new titles released in 2021 that will be available online – “Under the Open Sky”, a drama of a former yakuza, “Ito” which tells a story of a shy country girl, “Aristocrats” which depicts the life of two women from different social classes and “AWAKE”, a story depicting the rise of artificial intelligence in the game of shogi, along with 2 animes, the restored version of the KUROSAWA Akira’s masterpiece “Rashomon”, 2 documentaries on sumo wrestlers and a legendary Ramen chef, and a collection of all-time favourites from the past Japanese Film Festivals, all for Malaysians to enjoy watching online for 14 days*.
All you need to do is to visit the JFF ONLINE 2022 page at the JFKL website, create an account and you are all set to begin your journey of Japanese film and culture for two weeks. JFF ONLINE 2022 will also see a series of events happening, with one event before and one happening during the online festival period.
