MISS MALAYSIA KEBAYA RETURNS TO CENTRESTAGE WITH WINNERS IN 9 CATEGORIES POST LOCKDOWN

Amber Lee, a 29-year-old pharmacist from Tanjung Tokong, Penang was crowned Miss Malaysia Kebaya 2021 while Huda Binti Saber Abu Bakr Saleh, a 32-year-old microbiologist from Selangor was crowned Mrs Kebaya Malaysia 2021 at the Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Club, late Sunday night.
Meanwhile, taking the top spot in the Miss Malaysia Petite Kebaya 2021 competition was Noor Izwani Binti Mohd Salim, a 29-year-old shoe designer and the Founder & Global Creative Director of Izwani by Papilo, from Ipoh, Perak, while Hanin Hamdan, a 33-year-old corporate investment banker from Kuala Lumpur was crowned Mrs Malaysia Petite Kebaya 2021.
The finals of the highly regarded cultural pageant brand saw delegates competing in the newly launched junior categories this year, which also included male contestants vying for Batik titles.
Aiden Wu Wei Kai was tops in the Little Batik Prince 2021 (ages 4-12) category while the Teen Batik King 2021 (ages 13-17) category was won by Lee Choo Meng.
Winning the Little Kebaya Princess 2021 (ages 4-8) category was Allegra Kua Ee Rou, while Putri Diana Ellysa Zainol Abidin was crowned Little Kebaya Princes 2021 (ages 9 -12).
Prominent teen model, Suraya Tasya Suleiman was crowned Teen Kebaya Queen 2021.
The winners were selected by a jury of 10 esteemed industry professionals that included chief judge Mrs Universe 2013 Carol Lee, International Supermodel & Principal of Elpis Models Academy Eleen Yong, MBDA President Bon Zainal Harun, Hairdresser & Master in Grooming Maison Alex Lim, Brand Consultant of Lavigato Felix Lee, International Fashion Designer Ho Kok Loong, Super Model Universe Malaysia National Director Ammetta Malhotra, Founder & President of Glitterama Datin Maylene Yong, International singer Louis Tan & celebrated Fashion Designer Ridzuan Bohari.
The renowned cultural oriented pageant was organised by the Miss Malaysia Kebaya (MMK) Organisation and is endorsed and supported by Tourism Malaysia. The successful pageant brand was founded in 2011 by Dr Jason Hee and rebranded by his National Director & partner Nicole Fe Lynne in 2016. Miss Malaysia Kebaya took a break from the centre stage in 2019 and 2020, due to the global pandemic but returned with a vengeance this year by featuring a total of 75 finalists in 9 categories.
The Grand Finals of the MMK pageant shared the same stage with the Malaysia Runway Culture Model (MRCM) 2021 cultural modelling competition which was held earlier on the night.
The entire program was streamed LIVE by official media partner Rentak Sejuta.
