COVID-19 Status Update as of 11.59 pm, 18th October 2021
Infections nationwide dropped significantly again to 5,434 new cases yesterday, taking the cummulative total to 2,396,121.
Selangor remains at the top of the leaderboard despite dropping below the 1K mark to 800 new cases yesterday, with Johore next at 698 while Sarawak drops slightly to register 694 new cases.
Kuala Lumpur rises slightly to report 221new cases while Putrajaya drops to 14.
Both Sabah & Kelantan report 497 and 643 respectively.
Kedah drops slightly to report 324 new cases while Perlis drops by almost two thirds, to report 18 new cases.
Melaka and Negeri Sembilan drop to 211 and 151 new cases respectively. On the east coast, Pahang drops slightly to 253 while Terengganu drops to 311.
Up north, Penang drops by nearly half to 232 while Perak also drops significantly to 363.
Labuan reports 2 new cases.
Overall, all states are now below the 1K mark with nearly most showing a steady decline.

Active cases dips further to 89,173.
6,947 of these cases are currently hospitalised with 679 in ICU, and 347 on ventilators.
Deaths rose slightly to 72, taking the total fatalities to 27,993.
94% of the adult population have already received their complete vaccinations, while 97.3% have received their first dose. 2.7% are still unvaccinated. 29.9% of adolescents are fully vaccinated while 70.2% of the total population are fully vaccinated.
