Work
There is nothing else that can give the same kind of satisfaction as a good day's work. Time spent in productive effort builds confidence, responsibility and a real sense of control over your own destiny.
Yes, work can sometimes be tedious, frustrating and even painful. Yet by overcoming the many and varied challenges offered by your work, you are creating something of real value.
Even when your work does not yield immediate results, your efforts will never go unrewarded. For even if there is nothing else that comes of it, the work itself is ample reward.
Work brings with it the opportunity to make a difference, and the need to be needed is something that everyone knows. With your work, whatever it may be, you have a real and lasting impact on life.
Work is more than a job, more than a task, more than a set of efforts. Work is a powerful and fulfilling way that you can express who you are.
Whatever form it may take, work reminds you that you're alive, creative, innovative, effective and uniquely important. Put some work into this day, and you'll add your own real substance to life.

Where Thoughts Lead
What if all the world could see your every thought? Would you be proud of those thoughts, or would you be embarrassed and ashamed?
In fact, the world can see your thoughts. For your thoughts do surely and eventually make themselves known in the way your life progresses.
If you carry around hateful, angry, cynical and destructive thoughts, those thoughts will infect your life with misfortune, disappointment and emptiness. When most of your thoughts are thankful, loving, creative and joyful, those thoughts will be expressed through your life as success, achievement, and good fortune.
In each moment, you are able to choose your thoughts. And as those moments build on each other, the thoughts you have chosen become clearly apparent in the details of your life.
Your thoughts are yours to create, control and direct. By increasing the positive value of your thoughts, you bring real, positive substance into your world.
Choose thoughts that you'd be pleased for all the world to see. And those thoughts will lead to a life that is impressive indeed.

You Still Can
Even though you may not agree, you still can understand. Even though things may not work out the way you had planned, you still can move positively forward.
Even when you are surrounded by darkness, you still can brightly shine. Even when you have fallen short of the mark a thousand times, you still can give it another shot and succeed.
Even if you have been hurt, you still can find the strength to be kind. Even if you are gripped by fear, you still can find the courage to take action.
For the future equals the past only in your own assumptions. Let go of those limiting assumptions, and you're free to move in any direction you choose.
This moment right now is truly golden. Because this moment right now is yours to create.
No matter what may have already happened, you still can make life the best that it can be. Step confidently, joyfully, enthusiastically forward and fully live the life you were born to live.
Because, even now, especially now, you still can.

The Time You Take
The time you take to do it right saves you from spending even more time correcting it later. The time you take to exercise and keep in shape saves you from spending even more time being fatigued and in poor health.
The time you take to understand saves you from spending even more time being confused and misinformed. The time you take to care for and connect with others saves you from spending even more time being lonely and isolated.
The time you take to be patient keeps you from spending even more time being frustrated. The time you take to learn a new skill prevents you from spending even more time struggling to keep up in a fast-moving world.
Take time as it comes, and fill it with the best you have to give. Making wise use of it now will give you many more valuable options when more time comes along later.
Instead of rushing quickly to whatever is next, put your focus and attention on doing your best with what is now. This is the time when you can truly make a difference, so make full use of the opportunity you have.
As each moment arrives, take the time to live it fully, to give it value and purpose. The time you take to give of yourself to life will bring richness beyond compare.

Convince Yourself
If you can convince yourself to do something it will be done. All of the abilities and resources you need can become available to you in one way or another, given enough focused desire. Accomplishment is largely a matter of directing your will.
You must truly convince yourself, without the slightest doubt or hesitancy. Then, and only then, will it happen. The challenge of truly convincing yourself is the primary obstacle which stands between you and whatever you desire. Yet you have everything you need to traverse it.
After all, you're skilled at convincing others. You've done it all your life from your first cries which convinced your parents to feed you. And if you can convince someone else to act in your best interest, surely you can convince yourself.
So make the effort and really do it. Direct the formidable force that is your will. You know yourself better than anyone else. You know what it will take to get you going. Use that knowledge to your advantage. Convince yourself and it will most certainly happen.

Life's Detours
Sometimes life will present you with an unexpected detour. Sometimes you'll spend a lot of time and effort, and end up right back where you started. Such times are no reason for despair. Rather, they provide an opportunity for renewed determination and commitment.
Sometimes, things will not go as you planned. When that happens, keep in mind that much of life's richness comes from its unpredictability.
Rather than cursing the detours that life throws your way, explore what they have to offer. Even though you're not moving in the direction you intended to go, you can still make positive progress.
No moment is wasted when you live it with passion and purpose. Every sincere effort brings a valuable reward, even though the result may not be exactly as you planned. Getting there the fastest is not nearly as important as making the most of every moment.
Value and enjoy the journey, even when there are detours along the way.

Positive Reality
When troubles come along, being positive about them will not suddenly and magically change them. But the important thing is, being positive will change you. It will give you the ability, the strength and the positive energy to deal with whatever situation you may be facing.
Positive thinking does not achieve anything by itself. Instead, it enables you to achieve the things you decide to achieve. There are alternatives to thinking positively. You can be angry, resentful, or depressed. You can put an enormous amount of energy into feeling sorry for yourself. And what will these things get you? They won't get you anything useful at all, and they could easily make the situation worse.
When you find yourself in a hole, the first step is to stop digging! When things are bad, don't make them worse by adopting a negative attitude. Look for the positive. It is most certainly there. See it. Follow it.
Being positive doesn't take any physical effort, yet it will lead you to take positive action. And that can make all the difference in the world.

Serendipity
Though it is important to stay focused, an occasional distraction can sometimes be a good thing. There is much value to be found in the unexpected. The people you didn't expect to meet, the places you didn't expect to go, the things you didn't expect to learn can often lead you in new and positive directions.
When you've been knocked off track, it serves no purpose to beat yourself up about it. Make the most of where you are. If the distraction was compelling enough to get your attention in spite of your commitment to staying focused, then it likely has something to tell you.
Success is a matter of making the most of where you are. Often, where you are is not exactly where you planned to be. That's okay, though. You can still make the best of it. Be open to the possibilities, whatever they may be. Some of the most fortunate discoveries are made by accident.
Make careful and specific plans. Follow them with focus and commitment. And leave some room for serendipity.

The World Around You
The way you see yourself is the way you see the world. And the way you see the world is the way you see yourself. To live in a world that is filled with kindness, be kind. To enjoy a world that is respectful, practice respect for others. If you wish to live in a world filled with abundance, be creative.
When you wish to feel better about yourself, make an effort to help someone else. Admire the beauty of the world around you and that beauty becomes a part of you. Value and appreciate the achievements of others, and you strengthen your own capacity for achievement.
There is an entire universe which surrounds you, and it is yours to experience. The quality of that experience is largely up to you. Those who seem to hold the world in their hands do so by virtue of the way they perceive and relate with the world.
Forge a positive relationship with the world around you and the world will become a better place for you to live.
