An Honest Mistake - The Acoustic Album Launch @ Laundry Bar, The Curve, Ground Floor, Western Courtyard, The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya (5/7/14)

Come join local pop-punk band An Honest Mistake for an intimate evening at the launch of their new CD/DVD, #TheAcousticAlbum. The band will be playing alongside their original singer, Sheryl, while current vocalist Ashley hosts the event, where alongside opening performances by Talitha Tan and Annatasha Saifol, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the album (writing, recording, live performances) will be screened for the first time to all guests in attendance.
#TheAcousticAlbum is composed of a selection of songs from An Honest Mistake’s 1st and 2nd records, rearranged by Darren Teh and Tomas Tam, and performed for a live audience at Laundry Bar. The album features additional instrumentation by Shafeeq ‘Jibin’, drummer of ‘Hello Is This The Band?’, and Raja Nazrin Shah of ‘Sekumpulan Orang Gila’, the highly vaunted Malaysian post-hardcore band, in his capacity as a classically trained cellist.
#TheAcousticAlbum will be released as a digital CD/DVD- a first in Malaysia, including studio and live versions of the songs as well as the DVD containing the live performance in Laundry Bar and the behind-the-scenes footage, and also a digital booklet documenting the band’s journey.

It’s almost as if the only thing Malaysia’s An Honest Mistake hasn’t reached yet is the sky, and that’s about to change. Bringing an effervescent charm and an ever present smile into the mix is new female vocalist Ashley Chan, a triple threat dancer, TV host, and actor who’s changing the dynamic of AHM in all the right ways.
With a brand new look and an exciting new sound, AHM is looking forward by channeling their collective influences into a take on pop punk that is
at times emotional, upbeat, heartsick, sad, angry, and utterly relatable to anyone who listens.
2014 brings to the table a plethora of fresh material from the band as well. First comes The Acoustic Album, an intimate selection of rearranged AHM songs recorded live from a special showcase, featuring additional instrumentation from one of Malaysia’s most exciting bands, Sekumpulan Orang Gila. “But that’s just old material, played in a new way, isn’t it?” you may ask. Never fear, as not one, but two EPs from the band will be dropping this year!
Bolstered by experience, and rejuvenated with the appearance of a new star in Ashley, 2014 is a year of change that promises us the best version of An Honest Mistake yet.
