SOL Republic's APAC Sales Director Veris Chong Interview
SOLD ON THE SOUNDTRACK OF LIFE
Story & Photos: Dragon & Anastasia
SOL Republics' Asia Pacific Sales Director Veris Chong teasing us with her collection of headphones.
It was almost like Christmas had come early this year when headphone manufacturer SOL Republic's Asia Pacific Sales Director Veris Chong, started pulling out headphone after headphone out of her bag of goodies, yesterday afternoon during Rentak Sejuta's exclusive interview session with her, at The Living Room, in Westin Kuala Lumpur. And the most anticipated one that she finally teased us with was the just released Calvin Harris studio tuned Master Tracks XC over ear headphones which are not yet available officially in Malaysia, which we happily got to try first, and have almost certified as an Object of Desire. But before wax lyrical about the Master Tracks XC, lets look at all the headphones in SOL Republic's mighty arsenal of near perfect cans.
If you are not familiar with the SOL Republic brand, they are relatively a new high end headphone company that started life just two years ago, founded by three individuals namely music lovers Kevin Lee (the son of Monster Cable's Noel Lee), Scott Hicks & Seth Combs. The SOL stands for Soundtrack of Life, a philosophy that drives the conceptual design of the headphones and the people who are meant to use them.
According to Veris, the very first thing you will notice about any of the products in SOL Republic's line of head gear is the impeccable build quality, especially more so with the Tracks series which have headbands that are virtually...scratch that, totally indestructible. She went on to show us how tough they were by confidently and almost wickedly twisting and folding her favourite electric blueish Tracks Ultra headphone like a Bendy toy with no concern whatsoever. We were pretty much gagging and waiting for it to go snap, but no such thing happened, as Veris grinned while taking great pleasure to enjoy the moment where she hard two hardcore news people completely awestruck as the FlexTech (R) Soundtrack headbands holding the drivers flicked back into its original shape.
"Would you even dare or consider doing that with your current headphones?", grins Veris while demonstrating
the unimaginable flexibility of the FlexTech (R) Soundtrack headbands that come with SOL Republic Headphones.
The second thing you will come to appreciate about these desirable beauties are they are totally modular, interchangeable and customizabble.
