OIAM 3 Episode 7 Song List
Initially this is supposed to be a secret until the show airs, but I just found out that we can reveal it.
Weera – “Gemilang” (penyanyi asal Jaclyn Victor) Rizu – “Sandaran Hati” (Letto) Nine – “Hapus Aku” (Nidji) Tomok – “Crazy in Love” (Beyonce) Amylea – “Bohemian Rhapsody” (Queen) Fify – “Hot & Cold” (Katy Perry) Anith – “Pilihlah Aku” (Kris Dayanti) Esther – “I Try” (Macy Gray) Han – “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing (Regine Velasquez) Pija – “So What” (Pink) Simon – “Juwita” (Saleem)
So what do you guys think of the choice of songs by the contestants. Did they make the right choices, or are they committing "hara kiri"? Please feel free to comment as much as you like about the song selections this week.

i hope there are something interesting tonite... after a quiet bad performance last week from all the contastant..i hope tonite they will cover it back...
i'm quiet shocked when tomok n aweera choose that both song..gurlz song..but really hope they can make us proud of them...n make something new on that song....
from all the contastant i'm waiting for aweera, tomok n simon performance..the reason are..
aweera - gonna sing gemilang..which is jac song n too dificult to sing the song perfectly...
tomok - gonna sing crazy in love..i think he really crazy by choosing dis song..but i like it..maybe he can do better than 'swichfoot' which is they had sang dis song before wif their own style..i hope tomok also can make it on his style...
simon - firts time i'll heard simon sing a malay song..he not use to speak in malay..but now he gonna sing a malay song..interesting...cannot wait for it....
good luck to..n i will be there tonite....see ya....

Many of you may not know this but Simon has written, produced and and sang on his yet unreleased debut Malay album "Lupakan Saja". He was just about to release his album, when he was coaxed into joining OIAM once again. So it is believed that Simon is quite accustomed to singing in Malay as well.
The only problem with non Malay singers attempting to sing Malay numbers is that their primary accents (Chinese & Indian) creeps into their performances, or the song may end up having a Western tinge. Even OIAM 2 winner Ayu, who is Sabahan, had to contend with & overcome her rather pekat Sabahan accent when singing in Malay.
Of course, there are many exceptions to the rule, and people like Andre Goh, DJ Dave, Alleycats & Jaclyn Victor are very comfortable singing in Malay and have no problems convincing Malay music listeners. But then again the jury is still out on Karen Kong, Daniel Lee & Winnie K.

Episode 7 Pre Show Preview
The week just moved along so quickly, and now we are back again, anxiously waiting for the next eliminations. Episode 6 (Top 11) was a painfully weak week for most of the contestants, with poor health & the shock of loosing a fellow contender, causing havoc in their performances.
Unfazed, only Simon & Amylea truly delivered last week, with Amylea earning herself immunity from today's eliminations. Although unwell, Simon still managed to deliver an outstanding performance last week, earning himself the top spot in our rankings. But will it be enough to keep him in the competition as his fans appear invisible? We know they are out there somewhere but somehow they are not making their presence felt. Their low visibility will not help Simon's cause in gaining more support from others.
Unfortunately, both Aweera & Pija, succumbed to their illnesses, and performed under par, with Aweera earning the unfortunate wrath of judge Syafinaz Selamat, causing him to weep backstage after some rather harsh comments. Although below her normal standard, Pija still managed to carry through as best as she could, and did not suffer as much heat from the judges. No matter for Aweera, as the rock kapak (or gergaji elektrik) fraternity will stick by their man, but Pija is once again standing on shaky ground. Looks like Pija OIAM will not be able to rely on Pija Mentor's fan base, as her rigorous rebranding exercise may have irked some of her fans who supported her in Mentor.
Even powerhouse Esther was affected by the sudden loss of Ayu, and delivered an unaturally pitchy performance last week. Hopefully loosing imunity this week, will not effect her chances of staying in the competition. We believe she may not have to worry too much as she is already building a loyal following based on her singing quality, her humility and her on & off stage personality.
Tomok has been getting better each week. And his current fans are enough to keep him afloat a little longer. Surprisingly I get many quiries from people who apparently know him from his NewBoyz days, asking me "Tomok itu boleh nyanyi ke?" Well, yes he can!!!
Nine really nosed dived this week. He has been uncharacteristically getting worse & worse every week. His performance was flatter than a thosai in Episode 6, and I sincerely hope that he returns to his pre live shows self, where he was laid back but soothingly more melodic. The boy next door looks can only go so far before the lang lois get bored and decide to vote for someone else instead. I won't be surpised if he ends up in the bottom three but I doubt it will happen just yet.
A massive screw up on a legend's signature song may not augur well for Rihana. I actually heard her at rehersals and she was awesome, but she completely lost it right from the start during the show and it snowballed till the end. Its not going to be pretty for her this week as she may just face eliminations.
Rizu can sing, but why does he have to pick songs that even my 78 year old dad has stopped listening to. It was Boring with a capital B. And if this is what we will get when he becomes a star, I say nay to him right now. How many people actually bought a Michael Buble album here? Zilch!!! That's what I thought. But somehow he will be around, as he seems to have substantial fans.
I don't see sweet & adorable Fify leaving the show just yet. People just like her, and will vote for her. Plus she has never performed terribly as yet. She has got everything going for her.
Anith did rather well last week and may have even won some new fans from her fun & cheeky performance, but she will certainly suffer a major blow from last night's unfortunate Diaries episode. Expect a massive backlash from some of the other contestants' fans (especially you know who) as the OUT vote takes prominence this week. Girl, you did yourself no favours and if you survive the week, its time to take stock at what is at stake. Hopefully its a lesson learned. For the rest of the gang, please forgive & forget, and focus on the competition.
Thats it, the Top 11 in a can. By now everyone will know that performing well is not the only criteria to staying in the competition. Building new fanships is an absolute must, plus what happens offstage also has a bearing on them. Our predictions for bottom 3 this week is Anith, Pija & Rehana (Simon could end up in there too, eventhough he was the best last week for us).

"Tomok itu boleh nyanyi ke?" I owez saw dis kind of question from people outside who never trust of tomok ability..dun know why..maybe they never try to listen carefully for his performance n keep on their mind tomok is 'last 10years tomok'.. i just hope week by week tomok can prove them are wrong..prove that the person out there who deny his talent n deny PM n Syafinaz's choosen..hope tomok can make them realize that they r wrong...
for bottom 3 i agreed wif u D..but it doesn't meant tomok has a lot of fanz n he can safe..i'm a bit worried if tomok fanz forget their job...voting...n voting...
so guyz u still has ur time to vote ur fav contastant..in a few hours one of them will out from dis competition..dun let ur fav contastant out from dis competition...keep voting..n meet u guyz at SP2, PAS tonite...
