Central Eliminations - Day 1 (OIAM 3)
Part 1 - Scenes from Central Eliminations (Day 1) - Early Departure
The call time for the contestants was 7.00am at the lobby of the hotel, on the very first day of Central Eliminations which was being held at Capitol Studios in Bandar Sri Damansara.
Rentak Sejuta was at the hotel as early as 6.40am only to discover Kuching qualifier Awangku Faviq in the lobby, already up bright & early, and eager to start the day. As soon as I sat down to have a chat with Faviq, more contestants started trooping down, just as eager & excited to get cracking, full of energy and ready to take on the world. Little did they realise that many of their dreams will be shortlived or downright shattered within the next 18 hours. By end of the day, only 40 contestants would have made it to the next round on the following day, while the rest would be packing up their bags, no sooner than they had arrived.
Despite the impending gloom that will be shadowing some of these hopefuls, it was nice to see many vibrant faces prepared for the challenges ahead. It was very clear, even in the dark of the dawn, that some of them came well prepared and were more than ready to face all obstacles ahead, and were willing to give it their all to reach their dreams.
It was energising, and even inspiring for an old dude like me, as I soaked up their enthuasism while I waited to join them on the bus to their potential stardom.
First on the scene was Awangku Faviq. Perhaps he should have been a paramedic.
Among the early risers was Darren, Ridzuan & Indra Putra.
Who could you be possibly texting so early in the morning, Nur Ulfa?
Some of these hotel guests may have recognised Orange from SYTYCD 1.
Every guys' fave girl Dayah was among the early birds.
Actress Siti Elizad & upcoming singer Sazrin.
The twins were also up early.
We are still wondering who could anybody be texting so early in the morning?
As the lobby was filling up, these 3 found a new venue to get comfortable.
Mior was quite happy to share his seat ...er, be the seat???
If they don't make it in OIAM, they will be trying out for Malaysia's Top Model.
Tomok! Tomok! Matahari belum naik lagilah!!!
They look like they are off to some "anugerah".
Introducing the hotel's new lobby lounge act ...but only available at breakfast time.
Adam & Tracy were also up early to get the gang moving and to herd up the stragglers.
Timely arrival.
Rehana was chillin with the lang chais.
Time to ship out.
These guys move fast ...hey, wait for me!!!
The buses were already waiting.
The girls got one...
...and the guys got another.
Guess which one I chose ...er, was assigned to?
The only guys on this bus was me & the driver. That's a 20 to 1 ratio. Whoopeee!!!
Ayu & Dayah look possitively escalated.
When you are the only guy, you do get a lot of smiles from the ladies.
Mentor winner Pija getting outright comfortable.
More pics & story coming up. Stay tuned!!!
